There's a clue :) The Italian Forest... It's 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐨, of course ! 💖 🎵 It may come as a surprise the first time you read this quote to realise that it's about a song with a lot of meaning, in which the character in the song asks forgiveness from the people he has hurt. It's all the more surprising after reading numerous interviews in which Brian describes the song as “𝑚𝑒𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑙𝑦” and admits that it's the “𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡 ℎ𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑣𝑢𝑙𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑔” of the band’s career. 🎶 Although Bosco doesn't suit humour at all, Brian has managed to bring some lightness and fantasy to this magnificent song. It makes you wish it had been written that way ! ☺️ 🎵 In the gloomy times we live in today, laughter has become very precious and sometimes even life-saving. It's all about balance. 🎶 S𝐨, d𝐞a𝐫 𝐒o𝐮l𝐦a𝐭e𝐬, 𝐈'𝐝 𝐥i𝐤e y𝐨u t𝐨 𝐛e𝐚r t𝐡i𝐬 𝐢n m𝐢n𝐝. T𝐫y t𝐨 𝐚d𝐝 𝐣o𝐲 𝐭o y𝐨u𝐫 𝐥i𝐯e𝐬, e𝐯e𝐧 𝐢f i𝐭'𝐬 𝐝i𝐟f𝐢c𝐮l𝐭. I𝐟 𝐲o𝐮 𝐡a𝐯e t𝐨 𝐜r𝐲, y𝐨u'd b𝐞t𝐭e𝐫 𝐝o i𝐭 𝐰i𝐭h a g𝐨o𝐝 𝐥a𝐮g𝐡. 🥳 American musician and rapper, ✨𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅✨, who adds a special touch with his voice on 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐's song “𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒆 & 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆”, is turning 51 today. 🎉🌟🎈 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍! 🎂🎈🎊 📍𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏 𝑬𝒗𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅, born April 20, 1973, has African-American and Jewish Russian-Romanian roots. He made his musical debut back in 1991, with the song "𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑽𝒊𝒄", which reached No. 18 on the 𝑩𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒃𝒐𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑯𝒐𝒕 𝑹𝒂𝒑 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒔 chart. 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏 is considered a versatile musician since in 1993, he released a hip-hop album titled “𝑴𝒚 𝑭𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝑻𝒓𝒊𝒑 𝒕𝒐 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒕 𝟗” and his next musical project was a psychedelic rock band that released an album, “𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒖𝒕”. In 1994, 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏 was the featured vocalist on the song "𝑩𝒖𝒈 𝑷𝒐𝒘𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑫𝒖𝒔𝒕" by 𝑩𝒐𝒎𝒃 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒔𝒔, which reached No. 24 on the 𝑼𝑲 singles chart. Subsequently, he was a member of the group 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒉 𝑷𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉 and they only released one LP titled "𝑻𝒂𝒐 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒉 𝑷𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉”, on 𝑯𝒖𝒕 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔 in 1996. This band also participated in the soundtrack of “𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒎 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒆'𝒔 𝑹𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐 + 𝑱𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒕” with the song "𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒊𝒆𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑭𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒉" and in 1997, they made a remix of “𝑩𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆” by 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐, which was included as a 𝑩-𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 on the single of the original song. 🎧 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 (𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐢𝐱) - 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨 🎵✨ https://tinyurl.com/4cpjxtaf In 2000, 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏 collaborated on the fourth song on 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐's “𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒕 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒄” album, “𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒆 & 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆”. 🔊 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐞 & 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 - 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨 (𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨) 🎶✨ https://tinyurl.com/2u4by6rm .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 ❤️ Lots of love ❤️ 🪐𝑹𝒊𝒕𝒂🪐 📸 Photo Credits: Stefan Olsdal IG, screenshot from Placebo & Justin performance at Reading Festival 2000, Placebo & Justin backstage at Reading Festival 2000 - photographer unknown // edit made by me.

💎𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐋𝐘𝐑𝐈𝐂💎 ▪ ▪ ▪ “𝑷𝑼𝑹𝑬 𝑬𝑷𝑰𝑪 𝑴𝑬𝑳𝑨𝑵𝑪𝑯𝑶𝑳𝒀…” - 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝑾𝑬𝑵𝑻𝒀 𝒀𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑺 ▪ ▪ ▪  📢“Twenty Years is quite a classic Placebo song, but I think it’s kind of the closest that we’ve come to writing a song like “With or Without You” by U2, so far. Its subject matter wise to say is kind of meditation on the passing of time and on mortality, but the message of the song, I think, is very positive and very optimistic. It’s about recognizing the value of the present, living in the now and realizing what you have in your own hands, in front of you – friendship, generosity, closeness – these things which make us human.” (𝐵𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑀𝑜𝑙𝑘𝑜, 𝐶𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑙 +, 2004) 💫𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐘 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 is one of Placebo songs that you can split up into separate quotes to reflect on each of them… The phrase that has always resonated with me most is “𝒘𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒚𝒆.” Focusing on the non-materialistic things is what our souls need, really... That's what helps us to stay at peace with ourselves, what gives our lives the biggest joy and purpose...🙌 And I'm not denying the need for owning certain objects - special, beautiful, dear to our hearts. Again, it's all about valuing the deeper meaning behind them that can only be "seen" with our hearts, not eyes💗 ❓What are your thoughts on this particular lyric from 𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐘 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒? ❓What other lines click with you the most? Basically, the emotional development of an artist would stop when he becomes famous. In the case of Michael Jackson, his emotional development would have been paused around 10-12 years old. That’s possibly why he is a confused adult, a more blossomed person in the childish universe. For me, it would be around 22-23 years old. And that's why I'm still somewhat a teenager. But it's the whole story of rock’n’roll: the quest for eternal adolescence. Look at Mick Jagger, we're all trying to be Peter Pan.” (𝐵𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑀𝑜𝑙𝑘𝑜, 𝐽𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝐷𝑢 𝐷𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐ℎ𝑒, 11 𝐽𝑢𝑛𝑒 2009) .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 Painful, disturbing memories from the earliest years of life are extremely difficult topic to discuss… They can influence our adult self on subconscious level so that we don’t necessarily realise their harmful impact…😞 And the quote from Brian is yet another reminder that reaching for professional help may be crucial for future mental well-being🙏 ❓If you can relate to the line about a “wounded child”, can you say that Placebo help you reconcile with traumatic experiences? ❓What does “breathing underwater” mean to you personally? When do you feel like this? 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔, 𝑶𝒍𝒈𝒂💗 Photo credit unknown

🌠💎“𝒀𝒐𝒖'𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆…”💎🌠 📢“The Prodigal is the only song I wrote before I started working on this album. I was asked to write a theme for a movie, and the movie was never made. I don't know what happened, but the film doesn't exist. The plot of the film was about a rock band and one of the members died on stage. So, I decided to write an optimistic, Buddhist song about death. But musically, when I wrote it, it was almost a photocopy of 'Where Is My Mind' by the Pixies. When we got into the studio, we wanted to work on that song, but we really wanted to change the sound completely and it was our producer who suggested: "Why don't we do something more like The Beatles' Eleanor Rigby?" I have two favourite bands, The Beatles, and Sonic Youth. So, I was very excited about the idea. That's why we ended up in this sonic landscape with all these strings and that's what became The Prodigal.” (𝐵𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑀𝑜𝑙𝑘𝑜, 𝑂𝑈𝐼 𝐹𝑀, 22 𝐴𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑙 2022) "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒍" 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒄 𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔. 📢“Strings have been an essential instrument in our work since our fifth album. Adam Noble (who has worked with Paul McCartney, Liam Gallagher, etc.), who produced the song, and I finished it while talking about The Beatles. I can't speak to the world of this song, but the strings definitely add to its beauty.” (𝑆𝑡𝑒𝑓𝑎𝑛 𝑂𝑙𝑠𝑑𝑎𝑙, 𝐵𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑏𝑜𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝐽𝑎𝑝𝑎𝑛, 𝐴𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑙 2022) 💎We’ve already talked about the influence of 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 and their song 𝑬𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒃𝒚 on creating 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐋. «Don’t go and lose your face at some stranger’s place» On this day, 48 years ago, the film “The man who fell to earth” was released in the UK 🇬🇧. I found the lyrics of ‘The Crawl’ by Placebo to be reminiscent of Tommy’s development throughout the film. Towards the end, he had to pay a price for a human life, echoing the lyrics, «And don’t forget to breathe and pay before you leave». Additionally, the line «It takes the pain away but could not make you stay» is reminiscent of Mary Lou’s and Tommy’s relationship.

In such a highly connected and real-time world, where the mystery has faded away due to videos, photos and setlists posted on the net, the wow effect only remains the prerogative of the first concert of a tour, and that of Placebo at the 𝘼𝒏𝙘𝒊𝙚𝒏𝙣𝒆 𝑩𝙚𝒍𝙜𝒊𝙦𝒖𝙚, 𝑩𝙧𝒖𝙨𝒔𝙚𝒍𝙨, 𝙤𝒏 𝑻𝙝𝒖𝙧𝒔𝙙𝒂𝙮 7 𝙈𝒂𝙧𝒄𝙝, three days ago, was no exception, all the more so because it took place in such a fascinating and iconic venue. 💖That's what I was fantasising with you about in my post from 11 February, about what Placebo would have in store for us on that intimate warm up show at the Ancienne Belgique announced only a month beforehand: what the mood of the band would be, what songs would be on the setlist and, last but not least when it comes to Placebo... whether Brian would look the same as the last time we saw him on stage in 2023 or whether he would totally change his look again 😉. 🍃But last 11 February, when I shared my post about Placebo's first time at the Ancienne Belgique in 2001, and told you about the glorious history of that astonishing venue, I still didn't know that in less than one month I would be experiencing and breathing the charms of that place myself, and what's more, at 𝙩𝒉𝙚 𝙫𝒆𝙧𝒚 𝒇𝙞𝒓𝙨𝒕 𝒄𝙤𝒏𝙘𝒆𝙧𝒕 𝒐𝙛 𝙩𝒉𝙚 2024 𝑵𝙚𝒗𝙚𝒓 𝑳𝙚𝒕 𝑴𝙚 𝙂𝒐 𝑻𝙤𝒖𝙧. .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 🍃This gig will stay as one of my most cherished and unforgettable ever, I did everything I could, and much more, to make it possible and I will be endlessly thankful to those two beautiful souls, ever. ⭐️𝐊𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐘 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑, 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐄, 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐊𝐄𝐘: 𝐅𝐚𝐧-𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬⭐️ We know that Placebo music has always been inexhaustible source of inspiration for many, MANY fans that pushed them to get creative and work in the different fields of art - to express an invisible connection to their favourite songs (and beloved musicians, of course!) ✨I believe this ability to inspire lots of people to create art, amateur or more professional, is one of the signs of a really outstanding, worthy, meaningful music. Some time ago, our Stefania started a great series of posts with the fans' artworks. Not only did I often admire our soulmates' talent, but it makes me so happy to see that you, our dear followers, like this idea too and genuinely appreciate the our fellow Placebo lovers' effort!😍 I think it's wonderful that here on Placebo Anyway, we can support each other's art!💓 ⭐️Today, I’d like to introduce you to 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒂, another creative member of our Placebo "family”, who wanted to share some of her visuals for Placebo songs with you. These are 𝐊𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐘 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑, 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐄, and 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐊𝐄𝐘, and she's currently working on 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 (𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝟐𝟏+𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐥𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐱) - good choice, isn't it?🥰 ⭐️To give you some background, I asked Starla to try and explain her interpretations of Placebo songs that inspired her to create the visuals. Besides her thoughts on the tracks, Starla shared her untypical but so lovely story of becoming a Placebo fan… that started almost 24 years ago!🥰 .../***/ 🌀 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 🌀 ❓Can you relate to Starla's interpretation of the songs? ❓Have you ever created any videos, visuals for Placebo songs? Share them with us in the comments! ❓What images arise in your imagination when you're listening to Kitty Litter, Come Undone, Space Monkey? ❓Even if you never created any videos, how would you visually describe your feelings about these songs? 🌟 Today we celebrate the 𝟐𝟕𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚 of 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐's first super hit, 🎉“𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐘 𝐁𝐎𝐘”🎉, as it was released as the fourth single from their debut album on January 20, 1997. The song reached no. 4 on the 𝑼𝑲 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒕, gaining them worldwide recognition and opening many doors in their musical career.  🎤 "It's not absurd, it's obscene. A song this rude should not be number four in the charts." ▪️𝙱𝚛𝚒𝚊𝚗 𝙼𝚘𝚕𝚔𝚘, 𝚂𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚌𝚝, 𝙰𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚕 𝟷𝟿𝟿𝟽.  🎸 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨 - 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐲 (𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭) 🎼 http://tinyurl.com/yc2fmfbd  💿 The single version was re-recorded at 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒕 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒐𝒔 in 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔 in 𝑵𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 1996 and produced by 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍 𝑽𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒍, so it sounds quite different from the original version of the album, which was produced by 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒅 𝑾𝒐𝒐𝒅. The single was released in two different versions, the first one includes as 𝑩-𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔 "𝑺𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉", "𝑩𝒊𝒈𝒎𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏” and a remix of "𝑯𝒖𝒈 𝑩𝒖𝒃𝒃𝒍𝒆"; while in the second version we can listen to (𝑺𝒆𝒙 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒙)", "𝑬𝒚𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒅", "𝑺𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 (𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝑼-𝑺𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒙)" and "𝑴𝒊𝒔𝒔 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒚". 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐's first album had reached number 40 in the UK, however, due to the huge success of "𝑵𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒚 𝑩𝒐𝒚”, it re-entered the charts in February 1997 at no. 5 and went gold in May.  🎤 "Nancy Boy's success was a massive surprise for me. I still can't believe it, to be honest." ▪️𝙱𝚛𝚒𝚊𝚗 𝙼𝚘𝚕𝚔𝚘, 𝙸𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚙𝚎𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚗𝚝, 𝙰𝚞𝚐𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝟸𝟷𝚜𝚝 𝟸𝟶𝟶𝟿.  🎸 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨 - 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐲 (𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐮𝐦 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧) 🎶 http://tinyurl.com/yxz8dnrr  .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE POST 💢 🔹𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘣𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘕𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘺 𝘉𝘰𝘺? ✨ 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐊𝐘 𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓 𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐄𝐑! ✨ On this day 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐫 would have turned 𝟕𝟒. The most of you maybe remember him for being the author of the song "𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣𝙣𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮" that was 𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙗𝙤 𝙞𝙣 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬 in and used as a 𝐛-𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 for the single “𝙏𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙚𝙣” and in 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟑 the song appeared on their album “𝘾𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨”. 🔶 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓 𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐄𝐑? 🔶 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐫 was an 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 and 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐫 known for his powerful, soulful voice and sartorial elegance, and for his 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, combining 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥, 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐤, 𝐣𝐚𝐳𝐳, 𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐤, 𝐩𝐨𝐩, 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐞, and 𝐛𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬. He was born on January 19th 1949 in England and he spent his childhood on the island of Malta. His first major success was the single “𝘎𝘪𝘱𝘴𝘺 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭” with The Alan Bown Set. In 1970 he joined the jazz-rock fusion band Dada. In 1974 Palmer signed a solo deal and released his first solo album “𝘚𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯' 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘺”. His first real success came with the album 𝐷𝑜𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝐹𝑢𝑛 (1978), followed by several albums that also received critical acclaim. In the 80's, Robert Palmer changed his musical style by incorporating synthesizers. While for the album "𝑅𝑖𝑑𝑖𝑛' 𝐻𝑖𝑔h" in 1992 he chose to focus on jazz. He formed The Power Station with Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor, bassist John Taylor and former Chic drummer Tony Thompson in 1985. Their self-titled album reached the Top 20 in the UK and the Top 10 in the United States. Besides the band Robert also continued his career as solo artist and released altogether 15 studio albums. Robert Palmer died from a heart attack in a Paris hotel room on 26th of September 2003 at age 54. ***// 💢 SEE THE PICTURE FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 💬❓ Were you already aware of this song before listening to the Placebo cover of it?  -𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒇𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒂 ✨💜 Photo credit: unknown photographer, Placebo album Covers, edit by Stefania

Darling happy birthday… in the sky… . Decided to use Icelandic black sand for this Placebo-inspired work. Took me a while to finish. A very special song for me (and I think for many), so I just gave myself time to think, to feel and to come up with an idea which won’t ruin the sensitivity and the bitterness of this song 🤞 . . 💠 Hello soulmates! 🔊 Last week we received the fantastic news that 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼 will be returning to the stage and - most likely - with the 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗲 𝗚𝗼 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿. Via the band's official IG, we learnt that the boys will be playing at the 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗮'𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 in Monterrey, Mexico. And yesterday another concert was confirmed, at the 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗲́𝗿𝗲𝗼 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹, from 21 to 24 March in Bogotá, Colombia. My soulmate's heart was filled with hope as they dreamed of this tour in South America, specifically in my country, Brazil. While we wait for more news, I'll share with you a short interview with  𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 to 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 during 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼'𝘀 second visit to Brazil in March, 2007. They played in just two cities - Rio de Janeiro (25) and São Paulo (27)- promoting their 5th album, 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝘀. Enjoy! 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ 💢 𝐏l𝐚c𝐞b𝐨 𝐥e𝐚d𝐞r s𝐚y𝐬 𝐡e's p𝐚s𝐭 𝐡i𝐬 "t𝐫a𝐧s𝐯e𝐬t𝐢t𝐞" p𝐡a𝐬e No dresses or heavy make-up. The leader of the English trio 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼,  𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗼, 34, received 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 on the terrace of the Unique Hotel in São Paulo, relaxed and with a glass of whisky in his hand. The band performs this Tuesday night at Credicard Hall on their second visit to the country. An icon of rock's androgyny in the 90s, 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 says that he once had "a more transvestite phase", and that now the group is more confident in their music and doesn't care so much about their looks. 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 says that playing in Brazil is like being on holiday, and that he wants to be remembered as "a guy who wrote really good songs". Check out the exclusive interview with the singer below. ***/// 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 💠 That last answer from 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 is simply sensational. I'm not denying the incredible social activism of 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗼 or 𝗘𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿 but 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻'𝘀 awareness of the depth that 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼'𝘀 music exerts on their fans can, IMO, quietly override the activist forays of any other artist. It's a cathartic thing for me. It's a kind of therapy, basically. I externalise the things that consume me, that make me feel bad, that make my life emotionally difficult. I'm not someone who writes songs every day, I write songs in a state of urgency. And it's absolutely necessary that I get them out of myself otherwise they'll consume me, they'll eat me up completely. And I think it's beautiful to be able to communicate with people, to communicate these ideas that are important to me. ▪️𝙱𝚛𝚒𝚊𝚗 𝙼𝚘𝚕𝚔𝚘, 𝙾𝚄̈𝙸 𝙵𝙼, 𝙰𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚕𝚎 𝟸𝟸, 𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟸. 💫 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦! Today I share with you this quote from 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒐 on whether music has the power to make a change. I think, as 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒏 rightly says, the healing power of music is undeniable. Who hasn't had a bad day, plays their favorite music and immediately your mood changes and impacts your inner world. And well, in the end, that's where all real change begins. 🔹𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵? To complete today's dose of 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒃𝒐, one of the songs that has such a soothing effect is the mesmerizing "𝑾𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑴𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈", so I chose for you an excellent live version recorded at an Italian festival last July 18th. Instead, luckily for us, Placebo's plan transformed into a 𝒇𝒊𝒗𝒆-𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑬𝑷 entitled B3!🤩 📢"We reconvened in the summer of 2012 ostensibly to record a new single as we had just signed a new record deal. Why? Because we’ve never done it before. And also because people has a very strong idea what Placebo is, and that’s a guitar band. I guess we tried to make a point by saying, “Look, it has a post tuning on it and a harp, and just as long as we write it and we like it, it’s Placebo.” And people also have this misconception about the band being depressed and very dark and somber. And it’s true at certain points because as a human being everybody is like that at certain points at their lives or at certain points during the day. But also as human beings, we fall in love, we have laughter, we have a good time, we go dancing. And that is human emotion as well, and positive human emotion is equally important as melancholic human emotion. And we’re just trying to express what it is to be alive, and that means to be happy and sad.” (𝐵𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑀𝑜𝑙𝑘𝑜, 𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒𝑏𝑜 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑒𝑤, 𝑃𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑖𝑜 𝑑𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑠 𝐷𝑒𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑒𝑠, 𝑀𝑒𝑥𝑖𝑐𝑜 𝐶𝑖𝑡𝑦, 7 𝐴𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑙 2005) 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨 - 𝐈 𝐃𝐨, 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚, 𝟐𝟑 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟓 ➡️ http://surl.li/ljrkg .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 ❓What do you think of this quote, soulmates? ❓Have you ever considered Placebo to be just a dark and melancholic band? ❓Do you have a firm conception about their sound, or do you always welcome their experiments? ❓How much do you agree with this idea, “as long as we write it and we like it, it’s Placebo”? ❓What do you particularly like about the lyrics for I Do? 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻'𝘀 collaboration was recorded on two formats - CD and 7” Vinyl - and a second version was also included on the band's 3rd album - 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 - which was released on October 31st, 2000 and re-released 10 years later on August 2nd, 2010. 🔸 The CD edition of 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵 features two more songs: 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗞𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀 (Mystery & Crimes Mix) and 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 (Filtered Dove Mix) while on the 7" vinyl edition, 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 500 𝘤𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘴, only one song was included - 𝗟𝘂𝗸𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗲 (MC Sleazy Remix). 🔸 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵 was produced by 𝗔𝗖 𝗔𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 together with 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 - who had already contributed to some 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼 songs. 🟡 Some facts about 𝗔𝗖 𝗔𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 🟡 ⭐ A Scottish band formed in 1990 in Glasgow. Ten years ago today, on August 23rd 2013, “Too many friends” was released as first single from the album “Loud like love”. The recordings of the song were done at RAK Studios, Air and Strongroom Studios. Adam Noble was responsible for producing, engineering and mixing. 🎬 𝗧𝗢𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗬 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗦 🎵 http://bit.ly/2EWek89 🎵 Placebo shot the official music clip with filmmaker Saman Kesh in Los Angeles. American author Bret Easton Ellis (“American Psycho”, “Less than zero”) provides a voiceover as a narrator. Brian said that he felt it was “very appropriate, considering how much Bret tweets and how active he is on social media. It fitted in really well (Diffuser, October 2013). The video presents a “detective case” regarding a series of events occuring during a pool party. 🎬 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢 http://bit.ly/2WS7pa5 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰, 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴? 🆂🅸🅻🅺🅴 📌 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗙𝗔𝗡 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢 𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗣 📌 📢 ”We didn’t actually meet Bret Easton Ellis because of the way these things work, as everyone is really busy and I think he’s really busy with his new film called The Canyon. The director lives in LA, and Bret Easton lives in New York and we live in London. So we flew to LA to film the video with Saman Keshavarz the director, and while we were there, he brought up the idea of having Bret Easton narrate the video and we loved the idea. But by that time we were on the way back from LA to London, so we never got to meet him but we were very happy to have him on it.” (Bandwagon, August 2013) 📌 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗡 “𝗧𝗢𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗬 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗦” 📌 📢 'Too Many Friends" is most definitely not a rallying cry against social media. It is a small story about social alienation. I do worry, however, that technology is fast replacing religion as the opium of the people. But we cannot blame the technology itself – people are the problem. After all, guns don't kill people, but people do.” (Brian, BK, August 22nd 2013) ***/// 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 Photo credit: A Rock, Screenshot from the video / edit by Silke

💎𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐋𝐘𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐒 𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄💎 ▪ ▪ ▪ 𝑷𝑳𝑨𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑪𝑰𝑵𝑬 ▪ ▪ ▪ The line from this song has become a motto for many, many Placebo fans. “𝑫𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆” is one of the most important messages that conveys Placebo’s philosophy of respecting individuality and celebrating diversity🙌 💎With these words, Brian remains a voice of support, a helping hand of approval, and boost of self-confidence for all the misfits, those who felt like “square pegs in round holes.” And who of us hasn’t felt like this at least once in a lifetime?! 💎I bet there are fans who got this line tattooed on their skin… or considered getting it. But for sure, all of us have this statement deeply inked on our souls💜 However, the song is packed with beautiful, meaningful, and relatable quotes. Let’s discuss them together, soulmates! 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔, 𝑶𝒍𝒈𝒂💗 📢“The one song that doesn’t fit into the relationships theme. A classic Placebo song with a classic Placebo theme – individuality. 🅰🅽🅽🅸🆅🅴🆁🆂🅰🆁🆈 13 years ago today, on August 18th 2010, 🎶“𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒”🎶 was released as download. It is an anti-war song and transports an important message for everyone of us. The song also appears on “Battle for the sun“ redux edition (release date 27th of September 2010) and on the 2011 live DVD “We come in pieces” where you can also find a short film directed by Andreas Nilsson. The track was produced by Dimitri Tikovoi and mixed by David Bascombe. Backing vocals are sung by London Community Gospel Choir. The symbolic main character for “Trigger happy hands” is a psychotic clown, as you can see in the film. 🎬 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 – 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 🎵 http://bit.ly/3b8w5P2 🎵 📌 “𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒“ 𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐌 📌 The short film “Trigger happy hands” film was released to accompany the song. It was directed and co-written by Swede Andreas Nilsson. The story is about the young clown Bubbles who witnessed his human mother and clown father murdered by a band of thugs. After running away he must choose between honoring the biracial memory of his parents or joining a clown rebellion and avenging their death. It's an interesting fact that the shooting location of this film was Charles Manson's former ranch in Los Angeles, California. Manson was a notorious American criminal who led the Manson Family. Some members of this cult committed a series of murders in 1969. Amongst the victims was heavily pregnant actress Sharon Tate, wife of the Polish film director Roman Polanski. 🎬 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 https://youtu.be/TIsS4T_PN_w ***/// 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 Yours, 🆂🅸🅻🅺🅴 Photo credit: Screenshots from the video, edit by Silke

🎻🎼 T𝐇E P𝐑O𝐃I𝐆A𝐋 🎻🎼 🎻 Today I bring you my very personal view - but I guess some of you have this view too - about one of the two songs from 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗲 𝗚𝗼 that have never been performed live - for now - and that was one of the first after the releases of the four singles that blew me away the most - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗹. 🎻 Being a child born in the 70's I grew up listening to 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀 and of course other references of the time. But what marked me, either musically or through the influence of others - parents and relatives - were 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀! I used to play with dolls with my cousin to the sound of 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗲, 𝗘𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 or 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲... My ears were very well educated! 🎻 When 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗲 𝗚𝗼 was released and I was able to "savour" each of the 13 tracks, I came across 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗹 and what a delight it was! The immediate association with 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗯𝘆 was to be expected, after all the beautiful string arrangement with the marking of a cello is extremely similar to the fully orchestrated 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀 song. And this was later proven in the interviews 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 and 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗳𝗮𝗻 gave about the album's release: 🗨️ "...𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑖𝑔𝑎𝑙 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑛 𝑒𝑥𝑐𝑒𝑝𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑙𝑏𝑢𝑚, 𝑖𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑤𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑛 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑎 𝑓𝑖𝑙𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒. 𝐴𝑛𝑑 𝑖𝑡 𝑠𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑒𝑥𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑙𝑦 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝐼𝑠 𝑀𝑦 𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑏𝑦 𝑃𝑖𝑥𝑖𝑒𝑠. .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 💠 Soulmates, what do you think of these similarities? Did you also realise? I hope this Monday night is as incredible as the fanbase video of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗹, directed by David Kinsler that I share with you. 🎥 https://tinyurl.com/362r9tjb 👉🏻 PS: You can find out more about this fanbase video by reading the post our Olga wrote:  📜 https://tinyurl.com/yy7ef7m8 See you! Today we celebrate the ♦𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗬♦ of Placebo's first big worldwide hit single “𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜”. It was released 25 years ago today on August 3rd 1998. The song reached no 19 in the US Billboard Chart, no. 4 in the UK Singles Chart, no. 21 in New Zealand and no. 8 in Iceland to name but a few rankings. 🎬 𝗣𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 🎵 http://bit.ly/2QuvRqF 🎵 It's hard to believe but “Pure morning” wasn't even meant to become a single in the first place. The band recorded it as b-side song after the album “Without you I'm nothing” was already finished. But they immediately knew it was too good to use it as b-side and so it was added to the album in last minute and became the lead single of it. This explains why it is the only song on “Without you I'm nothing” that was produced by Phil Vinall (who had worked with Placebo on their single “Nancy Boy” before) while all other tracks were produced by Steve Osborne. “Pure morning” is not a typical Placebo song and the band's manager Alex Weston made clear that it was not indicative of the band's new direction. “It just stood right out. It needs a couple of listens, but then it's pretty hard to get out of your head. It's a risk, but one worth taking," she stated (dotmusiccom, July 1998). Brian said that “Pure morning” is overall a song about friendship. It deals with "coming down when the rest of the world is waking up", such as when clubgoers get home as the sun rises and everyone else is going to work, a situation he has been in very often. The feeling of dislocation, "that point you feel like your life is the least sorted ever" could be solved by someone who "slip their arm around you and make slumber easier." Brian summed it up with the words "All you really crave is for a friend to put their arms around you and make you feel better. That’s the pure morning, when that happens”. The official music clip of “Pure morning” was directed by Nick Gordon and shot in slow-motion at the junction of Savoy Street and Savoy Hill in London. .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰, 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴? 💎𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐋𝐘𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐒 𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄💎 ▪ ▪ ▪ 𝑰 𝑲𝑵𝑶𝑾 ▪ ▪ ▪ One of the oldest Placebo songs, from their self-titled debut album, still resonates with me personally. And so does it with Brian, I believe. Written about a particular private situation - love story from the early days - it’s got a new meaning to Brian twenty years later which he revealed during the Loud Like Love livestream in 2013. I was interesting for me to realise he still reflects on the previously written lyrics… 💎"𝑰 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒖𝒑 𝒂𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒇𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓..." The more you try to run from yourself, your problems or mistakes you’ve done, the faster they reach you with their consequences… Facing and accepting your past is the best solution and the only way to move forward🙌 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨 - 𝐈 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐑𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨 𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟔 ➡ https://rb.gy/66k6r 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐬: Of course, there's always songs that, even if they weren't singles, they could have been included because they perfectly represent what Placebo's style is. 📢𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐨: Like what song? 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐬: I think 'I Know' is one of those songs... 📢𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐨: I love that song! In fact, it was included in the original tracklist I had thought of, but we couldn't fit everything in the compilation, that's why in interviews I told it was a singles compilation, that it doesn't necessarily mean they're the best songs. Do you know the story behind 'I Know'? 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐬: No... 📢𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐨: I was living in New York, thinking about moving there instead of living somewhere in France where I had been living and where I was feeling very down. I don't talk a lot of my private life, but it's very well known and very 'public domain' that I was in a relationship during that time but it didn't work. We really needed to take some time off. So I was in that big city and didn't know anybody. .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 ❓How do you feel about I Know? ❓Does your personal connection to this song change through the years? Today we celebrate the ♦️𝟐𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐨𝐟 "𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄"♦️”, a song produced by Jim Abbiss. It was released as second single from “Sleeping with ghosts” on June 16th 2003 and reached no. 23 in the UK Singles Chart. 🎬 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘𝗕𝗢 – 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 🎵 https://bit.ly/2Vt9LJV 🎵 “This Picture” was originally meant to be a piano ballad, but then the band decided to change it into a rock song. In spite of that it seems they also still liked the piano version because they played it live for RTL2 France Acoustic Session. This performance was later released on the ”This Picture” DVD single. The lyrics of the song deal with a destructive relationship involving sadomasochism and abuse. The story is told from a men's view and the female is in the position of dominance. The phrase ”ashtray girl” in the song text refers to a woman who uses her partner as an emotional ashtray. "Cigarette burns on my chest" is a (more or less) hidden reference to James Dean and his supposed fetish to have cigarettes stubbed out on his chest. The shared official video is about someone who has lost their identity in a self-destructive relationship (see quotes below). It features Italian actress Asia Argento who had already collaborated with Trash Palace and Brian on the Serge Gainsbourg cover “Je t'aime moi no plus” in 2002. Considering that it was a successful single the live history of “This Picture“ is quite short. It was just played 131 times by the band, almost only during the “Sleeping with ghosts“ and the short “Once more with feeling“ tours. The last performance took place at Bangkok 100 Rock festival in Thailand on February 19th 2006. It is then that we can sit back and see if there is a cohesion, or a thematic unity to the tracks. This album was made as a reaction to our previous album, Meds, which we with some hindsight feel is quite a dark and bleak record. So when it came to making this one, we wanted something more colorful with more hope and optimism. Battle for the sun is a reference to making a decision to try to lead a happier more balanced life. 🎉🎉 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗬 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗬! 🎉🎉 🎁 Today we celebrate the 64th birthday of 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘆, iconic lead singer of The Smiths, songwriter and author. Born May 22, 1959 in Davyhulme , Lancashire, England, 2nd son of Irish immigrants (he has an older sister, Jacqueline), 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘆 grew up between Hume, inner Manchester and Stretford. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘆 was always passionate about literature and music. After finishing his formal schooling, he had a few jobs and the money he earned was spent on concerts. In 1977 he met guitarist 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝘂𝗳𝗳 (The Cult) and became the lead singer of Duffy's punk band, The Nosebleeds, which didn't last long. Both created another band, Slaughter & The Dogs which was also short-lived. In 1982, 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿 invited him to form a band that would later be called The Smiths, by 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘆'𝘀 choice. If you want to know more about 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘆, I left the Wikipedia link where I did my research. 📜 https://tinyurl.com/5drx25h7 🔸 Known for his sharp tongue, sarcasm and controversial opinions, 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘆 has spared no one in his comments. 🎶”𝐁𝐑𝐔𝐈𝐒𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄”🎶 was released 26 years ago today on May 12th 1997 and reached no. 14 in the UK Singles Chart. The album version is a heavy riff-based track. It is notable for its "behind the bridge" guitar solo. The song is played in F-A-D-G-C-C tuning. The radio edit is more ”listener friendly”, after the intro it cuts directly to the vocal verse and the solo is cut short. 🎬 𝗕𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗘 – 𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗟𝗘 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟳 / 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢 🎵 http://bit.ly/2ujucPY 🎵 The 𝗮𝗹𝗯𝘂𝗺 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 of “Bruise Pristine“ was recorded at Westland Studios in Dublin when Placebo were working on their first studio album with producer Brad Wood. But the version that came out as a 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 later was actually a re-recording done in London with Phil Vinall who produced “Pure Morning“. Still the story of the song started much earlier. It was actually the very first song by Placebo that has ever been released. In its original version “Bruise Pristine“ was published as 𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 with the band Soup by record label Fierce Panda in October 1995 (see quotes below). It was then re-recorded for the band's self-titled debut album the following year and finally became the fifth single off “Placebo” in May 1997. 📀 𝗕𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗘 – 𝗔𝗟𝗕𝗨𝗠 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 🎵 https://bit.ly/3ERrxy0 🎵 “Bruise Pristine“ has a special meaning to Stefan because it was the first time he ever heard himself getting played on the radio (for Brian it was “36 degrees“). In the “Once more with feeling” DVD he said that he used to hang out near this huge dish when he was a kid and “I never thought I’d be with the band, playing on top of it. It’s kind of a huge thing to achieve.“ But Brian immediately destroyed this narrative by revealing that they never really played on the satellite dish: “I hate to break the mystery, but the band isn’t playing on the telescope itself. Thanks to technology we did it in the studio. This video was filmed in January. So it would have been too cold for us to be comfortable up there.“ Stefan explained that after some videos which were a lot like short movies (like for example “Special K” or “Slave to the wage”) Placebo wanted to do a clip in which they could perform as band again. Howard Greenhalgh had the idea for the location but was first convinced he would not be able to film it (see his statement below) but luckily he was wrong. .../***/ 💢SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳 “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘯𝘥” 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰, 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴? The origin of 🔺𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐎 𝐃𝐀𝐘🔻 𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐨𝐟 “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐝”, a song which is 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 ♦️“𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟰”♦️. We have already disvocered the hidden references to this novel in the song text in previous years. Today let's take a closer look at the author of the book: 🔹𝗚𝗘𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗘 𝗢𝗥𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟🔹 was born as 𝙀𝙧𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙪𝙧 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙧r on June 25th 1903 in Motihari, Bengal, British India. During most of his career Orwell was best known for his journalism. He wrote essays, reviews and columns in newspapers and magazines and also books of reportage (“Down and Out in Paris and London”, “The road to Wigan Pier”).Modern readers are more often introduced to him as a novelist, particularly through his enormously successful titles “𝘼𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢” and “𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟰”. Orwell' father Richard Walmesley Blair worked as a Opium Agent in the Opium Department if the Indian Civil Service. His duty was to supervise the production and storage of the drug for sale to China. Orwell's mother, Ida Mabel, had two more children: Marjorie, five years older and Avril, five years younger than him. When Eric/George was one year old his mother moved to England with him and his younger sister. He was raised and educated there. After school his parents could not afford to send him to university. It was decided that Orwell should join the 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙚. He moved to Burma in 1922. Six years later he resigned from the police to become a writer. He drew on his experiences in the Burma police for the novel “Burmese Days” (1934).  .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 I already brought up at the beginning of my post that Placebo's song “The bitter end” is based on Orwell's famous dystopian novel “1984” and that there are lots of references to the book in the song lyrics. Robert Smith is the lead singer, guitarist, songwriter and only continuous member of the The Cure. The legendary icon for generations of goth people turns 64 years old today. 💝🎉🎈 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓! 🎈🎉💝 Robert James Smith was born on April 21st 1959 in Blackpool, Lancashire, in the UK as the third of four children. He is still married to his first love Mary Poole whom he met at school when he was only 14 years old. They have no children because Robert said he was against having kids as he “refuses to impose life on another“. In 1976 he founded Easy Cure, since 1978 the band's name is simply The Cure. Robert also played guitar in the band Siouxie and the Banshees (1982-1984) and was part of the short-lived group The Glove in 1983. During his career he had a lot of brilliant collaborations with other artist. Up to now The Cure have released thirteen studio albums, a good number of live and compilation albums, ten EPs and almost 40 singles. The last album was released already 15 years ago in 2008 though. In 2019 Robert Smith finally announced that a new album album was on the way but it's still not out. This record is said to be called “Songs of a lost world“. Accordingly the 2022 tour have been titled "Shows of a lost world", and the band performed some of the songs from the upcoming album. Robert about the record: “It’s very much on the darker side of the spectrum. I lost my mother and my father and my brother recently, and obviously it had an effect on me“. In another interview with Los Angeles Times he said that “it’ll be worth the wait. I think it’s the best thing we’ve done". .../***/ 💢 SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘰𝘰? 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴? 🌛◾ℙ𝕃𝔸ℂ𝔼𝔹𝕆 𝕃𝕌𝕃𝕃𝔸𝔹𝕀𝔼𝕊 – 𝕝𝕒𝕤𝕥 𝕖𝕡𝕚𝕤𝕠𝕕𝕖◾🌜 💗Beautiful friends, I'm here to wish you a good evening for the latest episode of Placebo Lullabies. You know, I've been wondering for a long time if I'm going to end this series without the songs from the last album. I finally decided yes. 💖Because the Never Let Me Go album is still a very sensitive internal thing for me. 💖Because I wrote about the songs that touch me the most last year. 💖Because... I want to end this topic and maybe make room for something new... So - let's enjoy the last episode. I have two songs left for the end. There's a big time gap between them, and neither of them were played live. You might be able to guess this riddle from the picture. The first lullaby is the result of Brian's collaboration with the frontman of the band ⭐𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 - 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐬 from 2005. And the second one - a cover of a very nice song by ⭐𝐏𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐬 - recorded in 2012. So - did you guess? 🔹🎶𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐊 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑🎶🔹 I should start by saying that Indochine has released 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 of this song. Interesting, isn't it? The songs were released 18 years ago on December 19th 2005. While in "𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫" we hear only Nicola's vocals, in "𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟐" there is an English interpretation sung by Brian and Nicola and their duet in French and English is called "𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟑". 🔹🎶"𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟐" https://bit.ly/3UQaGlH 💖𝑳𝒚𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒔: https://bit.ly/3LeLsdV 🔹🎶"𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟑" https://bit.ly/41DMipR 🔹𝑺𝑶𝑵𝑮 𝑰𝑵𝑭𝑶🔹 .../***/ 💢SEE THE PICTURES FOR THE REST OF THE TEXT 💢 It's time to say goodbye to this series.
