"République Tchèque" et "Goregrind" font souvent (très) bon ménage. Bien dommage que l'on ait propulsé les très mauvais Gutalax en figure de proue de la scène nationale, parce que les VRAIS bonnes formations ne manquent pas : Pathologist, Pigsty, Ahumado Granujo, Carnal Diafragma, Sick Sinus Syndrome... Et mes favoris, Jig-Ai. Alors oui, on perd quelques points de QI, c'est clair. Mais qu'ils sont forts, nom de Dieu. Une seule erreur de parcours (le très longuet "Rising Sun Carnage" de 2014) dans une discographie absolument exemplaire. Bientôt vingt ans d'activité pour le trio, vingt années passées à se vautrer, sourire aux lèvres, dans un mauvais goût revendiqué et assumé. Le cauchemar des weebs. "Fujiculate", "Boobzilla", "Geishas Sucks European Cocks" (sic), "Final Cu(n)t", "Bonsai Bukake" (re-sic), "Samurai Gay Party"... Je t'avais prévenu. Et je te vois sourire : l'écoute de cet "Entrails Tsunami", dernier album du groupe (sorti en 2019) te le fera avaler en même temps que tes dents. Le Goregrind pratiqué par Jig-Ai est à la hauteur de sa connerie. Absurde de violence, de lourdeur (tant dans l'exécution que la production), un implacable bulldozer servi par un batteur bandé H24 et une guitare accordée plus bas que terre. Un sommet de trisomie, 24 minutes de shokushu goukan dans chaque orifice, surtout les oreilles. Unaussprechlichen Kulten is at the forefront of the Chilean death metal scene and has really gotten a lot of attention in recent years, and for good reason. Their dark, mysterious death metal is tinged with Lovecraftian themes and is strikingly evil and brutal. Interestingly, I can find little information about this specific release. It is a CDr compilation of tracks from their releases up to 2014 that was self-released by the band but that's all I can find out. Was it sold at shows? On Bandcamp? In a limited capacity or are there a million of these out there (my local shop had two)? Foreigner - Can’t Slow Down (September 29th, 2009) As you can see I skipped past two albums, 1991’s Unusual Heat and 1994’s Mr. Moonlight. They’re not hard to find but I just haven’t purchased them yet. Honestly they’re not that great at all really other than a mildly interesting tune here and there. The final album that Foreigner released came out in 2009 called Can’t Slow Down. On here, Mick Jones is the only original member left, as Lou Gramm had left, and replaced by Kelly Hansen. The album itself isn’t good at all. It feels a little too modern, less of the memorable hooks and I swear there is a country tinge to a lot of the tracks. Bad way to end the career on. Can’t Slow Down peaked at number 29 on the Billboard Top 200. Foreigner - Inside Information (December 7th, 1987) The bands commercial downslide continues…. Lou Gramm, lead singer, was already looking to go solo and had some okay success. The band as a whole was starting to fracture, and the album didn’t do anywhere near as well. This was probably the first instance where the singles did better and sold better than the album. The album itself is so very dated sounding in slick gated drum sounds, oversaturated keyboards and lackluster songwriting. It would also be the last album to feature the classic Foreigner lineup, as Rick Wills and Dennis Elliott would leave after the albums release. The album isn’t a complete loss, however. As I said about the band having great singles, there is no exception to the hits like “Say You Will”, “Heart Turns To Stone” and “I Don’t Want To Live Without You”. Inside Information peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Top 200 and has been certified Platinum. Foreigner - Agent Provocateur (December 14th, 1984) Here is where I kind of jump the shark so to speak… After a 3 year break, the band released their follow up to the mega success of 4. It was an even slicker produced album, and an album that followed an even more mellow direction. Going straight into the Adult Contemporary audience, the band achieved their only number one single, the bombastic “I Wanna Know What Love Is”. Other than that single, I really like the opener “Tooth And Nail”, “That Was Yesterday”, and probably my favorite being “Reaction To Action”. I’m not a fan of this album as a whole, and honestly this is the start of some unmemorable albums for me. Agent Provocateur peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Top 200 and has been certified 3x Platinum.
