I am seeing way too many posts about fly camping again and those who don't care about anything apart from themselves, leaving rubbish, old tents, burnt areas already. We haven't even reached prime season yet. This is not wild camping. This image is from a very popular wild camping spot in the lakes. On this day, we removed a tent and it's poles along with numerous other bits of litter, including a bottle with what I assumed was urine within, very unhealthy needs to see the doctor urine. The fact that someone would wee in a bottle and leave it in a pristine area just blew my mind. Some humans eh. This is a message to say if this is how you camp and explore nature, please don't, stay at home, and trash your own home, not wildlifes. Please leave no trace. It's really not that hard to do. Every single adventure I have been on for the past couple of years, I have bought along my foldable litter picker and spare rubbish bags as I know the litter and rubbish are inevitable. Please stop destroying our planet. It's not the magic litter fairy that cleans up after you. It is us, usually carrying our own kit and gear. We don't need the extra load of all of yours, too. To all of those people who do leave no trace, seriously thank you, you make the world spin round a bit happier. Another reason to bring systems of the outside in, is because in the face of everything that humans seem to get wrong, and despite my commitment to generating safe, calm and careful enclosed spaces, on the whole I'm going to trust the 'natural world' (a flawed, complex, placeholder term I know) more. And so I do well with the reminder. If the inside (construction / architecture) represents 'for-human' territory, with all the environmental challenges it brings (energy and embodied carbon in fabrication, use and material procurement), the outside, by contrast can at times, and in places, be mediating, remediating, or just doing its own thing - beyond, and even occasionally without, 'us'. And though we reference 'invasive' and 'colonising' plant and animal species, and also historically having been the victims of 'biblical' scale floods, droughts, winds and quakes, we know that increasingly it's our (sometimes well-meaning, mostly belligerent) interference that has upset the balance and exacerbated extremes. The wider world though, left to its own devices, over time periods that we can't sometimes calibrate, and in ways that don't always look pretty but are generally sublime, will necessarily reconcile. I'm not a subscriber to organised religion at all - too often it seems to show up alongside the evils and catastrophic effects of other sinister power grabs - but recognise my Anglican cultural backdrop and like the concept of prayer. I appreciate Easter (a Saxon festival anyway - ฤostre?) for its non-committal dates that are closer tied to the universe's patterns than a 'Hallmarked' holiday (surprising us each time as it travels on a 5.7 million year cycle), plus references to the beauty of Spring with its chances and also requirements to start again. To see Placebo in Mexico is always unique, the Mexican vibe is very particular. In this tour I had incredible moments, in which the universe conspired to make everything work. A tour that began when, after a great effort, I realized something I wanted: to give Brian and Sfefan a letter expressing the meaning that the band have to me, both recieved. A meeting where my Sleeping With Ghosts vinyl now is testimony to be signed by both (myself since 20 years ago is happy). 2 completely different concerts, one in a theater, with a particular vibe, our fan project during Happy Birthday In The Sky was noticed by Brian and appreciated it. With some calls for attention to people who didnโt even respect the no cameras rule, in addition to some technical errors that did not limit the band for to give all their emotions. The second concert in a city that I hadnโt visited in a long time, a long wait in queue and getting the front row, such a beautiful concert, where despite seeing Brian scolding a couple of people for recording and one of them was expelled of the concert, the mood of the band did not change at all, an exciting, euphoric concert and the band with a lot of interaction, Stefan playing his guitar and going down to the barrier during Fix Yourself, staring at several people and transmitting many feelings. One of the most emotional moments I have lived at a concert. I feel grateful for everything that happened on this tour. I have been a naughty girl today. Made both mom and the sister cry ๐ข ๐ญ ๐ช I'm pushing the boundaries to see how far I can go before I get into trouble, and it turns out it's not very far. I've had a few trips to time out, and mom's put me in my place a couple of times, too. My mouth is hurting, and I know it's not nice for the hoomans when I catch them. It's not nice for me either when my mouth is so sore. I'm learning, though, and I think the sister is learning to listen better, with not picking me up so much. I'm just too cute and fluffy. Everyone wants a cuddle. Dad took me to see Auntie Klare at work yesterday. Everyone loved me, and I got a pretty pink harness, too. Shame I made a stinky mess on the carpet for mom to clean up. I'm chilling out now next to mom again in my favourite place (yea, you guessed it, dad's seat ๐คฃ๐คฃ). On 25th March 2022, Placebo finally released their 8th album, Never Let Me Go. For this new album, Placebo chose to do everything backwards. In fact, instead of starting to work on songs, Placebo chose since the start cover of the album as well as its name, with name of each song. The goal of this process was to get out of their comfort zone. Another important element is, for the first time for a long time, Brian and Stefan was alone to compose. For this time, music is more experimental than in previous albums. Even is the list of instruments is almost the same in every song, sound effects were added on instruments in order to make them appear more original and different. I also want to notice that drum style is different than in the previous albums (maybe thanks to Steve leaving or Matt arrival). In Never Let Me Go, lyrics still talk about depression and uneasiness (Went Missing, Chemtrails, Fix Yourself, Twin Demons). It less deals with addiction (with Forever Chemicals). However, we discern new topics as new technologies (Surrounded by Spies), urgency of Earth state (Try Better Next Time) or death of a loved one (Happy Birthday In The Sky). Among these negative topics, we can find happier topic as with The Prodigal also dealing with death. En effet, au lieu de commencer ร travailler les chansons, Placebo a choisi dรจs le dรฉbut la pochette de l'album ainsi que son nom, avec le nom des chansons. Le but de cette dรฉmarche รฉtait de sortir de leur zone de confort. Un autre รฉlรฉment important est que pour la premiรจre fois depuis longtemps, Brian et Stefan sont seul ร la composition. Cette fois ci, la musique est beaucoup plus expรฉrimentale que les albums prรฉcรฉdents. Mรชme si la liste des instruments est quasiment la mรชme entre chaque chansons, des effets de sons ont รฉtรฉ ajoutรฉs pour qu'elles paraissent diffรฉrentes et originales. J'aimerais aussi relever que le style de la batterie est diffรฉrent des anciens albums (peut-รชtre grace au dรฉpart de Steve ou l'arrivรฉe de Matt). Dans Never Let Me Go, les paroles parlent toujours de dรฉpression et de mal-รชtre (Went Missing, Chemtrails, Fix Yourself, Twin Demons). Ils abordent moins les addictions (avec Forever Chemicals). Cependant nous discernons de nouveaux sujets comme les nouvelles technologies (Surrounded By Spies), l'urgence de l'รฉtat de la Terre (Try Better Next Time) ou la mort de l'รชtre cher (Happy Birthday In The Sky). Parmi ces sujets nรฉgatifs, nous retrouvons des sujets beaucoup plus joyeux comme avec The Prodigal abordant elle aussi la mort.
