#FAQ. Why do we see many Buddhist sects in the world today? A. After the Buddhaโs passing away (Mahฤparinibbฤแนa), the ordained disciples (Bhikkhus) of the Buddha protected the Buddha's Teachings by memorising and carrying them to the next generation by heart for a long period. Since that time, private opinions have been added as true words of the Buddha even though His true words are still preserved untainted in sacred texts of Buddhism (Tipitaka). As a result, monks were divided into groups of different views from time to time. This is why diverse sects of Buddhism can be identified today. However, the truth is that one can still attain Great Nibbana (removal of lust, anger & delusion) by living a life according to the Buddhaโs authentic Teachings which are known as Theravada. It has a keychain and it's small, which makes it easy to carry with you. It's funny that "self spray" is written on it, though; you definitely shouldn't spray yourself!
