Stage 1 of #operationglassonion If you know, you know.... This is my first George and Ginger Selfie shirt and I really like the pattern, it's so quick to make (much quicker than I thought it would be!) But I need to make some adjustments for my next one... 1) I added 1in to the bodice as instructed as my side waist measurement indicated this is what I needed. Actually what I need to do is add 1in to the waistband as otherwise the bust cups sit too low. 2) On this one, I doubled the waistband width as I didn't want to add a skirt and I think it worked well (other than needing to add the length!) 3) I need to size down when making in cotton lycra. The pattern calls for a more structured fabric like scuba, so if I make this again in CL, I'll size down. My next one will be in scuba so I'm hoping it will be OK 4) I don't like the sleeves 🙈 I may take these off and replace with puff sleeves or cap sleeves 🤷♀️ not sure yet 5) I sewed up the front a little bit so I can wear a bra as I want this to be a more casual top for summer. My next one I'll be more daring with the lower neckline and no bra! Lots of lessons learnt, I LOVE this fabric from @northernmonkeymakes, and I still have another 3 meters to get through for stage 2 and 3 (possibly 4 if I have enough fabric 🤞) Still can't pose. Hi there! 👋😃 Obviously we're a day behind on the #propertypostingchallenge and you know what that's OK! We're Laura and Dan, based in North Yorkshire and we're just starting out as property investors. Here we are celebrating our success as business owners and rugby players! 🧒🧒We have two beautiful boys aged 2 and 5, our "whys", who keep us very busy! Also a neurotic collie who fits into the mix pretty well 🐶 ⚒️We're currently renovating project 2 after a crazy start to it all back in May last year when we bought our first auction property. 🏈We both play rugby so from August to April life is chaos, between us we train and play up to 4 nights a week and pretty much aaaaall weekend as our eldest now plays too! 💙🖤🤍 Our successful rugby season finishes at HQ this Sunday as Dan is playing in a cup final in Twickenham none less!! Dan works as a field support officer in the pig rearing industry and I am now doing property part time around the kids and part time supporting a small business with their admin side of things. ☕ Life is busy, but we love it. Project 2 is officially pending 🥳 After an exciting whirlwind of exactly 3 weeks from viewing to completion, we completed the purchase and got the keys today! This lovely little 2 bed mid terrace is ready to modernise and get on the rental market. We've already had the build team in to measure up and quote and met with a potential letting agent today to get their opinion too (and a helping hand with the stinky white goods-thanks Jake!) We love using different design styles in our projects and this minimal hallway is one of our more subtle designs ✨ Our client wanted a relaxing entryway that wasn’t too overcrowded, with a hint of calming blues 🌊 We painted the entire space in Dulux’s ‘Natural Hessian’, installed a storage savvy shoe cabinet and brought in colour through a patterned runner and a personalised art print, created by local artist @leahpendletondesigns ✨ But we’re not stopping there! Next up for this hallway is half wall paneling to add the finishing touch and a little character, whilst still keeping to the minimal theme... Someone I know just shared this post this morning and if I ever I needed to see it, it was today. We've had an offer accepted on a new property in Walton 🙌 and now the excitement is starting to fade the reality of whats ahead is daunting. People have said oh your a pro now you'll smash it but I'm sure when I'm pregnant I get this super power and my mind just goes off on one and allows me to do things I wouldnt normally do. ( I wanted to buy a pub 😆 and renovate it last time I rarely even step foot inside a pub) Now I've got a 6 month old and a 6 & 8 yrs old to look after the reality of projecting managing a refurb, its a full refurb too its slightly panicing me. Especially with the price of materials & labour going up as well as the general cost of living. Busy day yesterday while the boys are away with their grandparents! Managed to get another viewing booked in for project 2 potentials! Great chance meeting with @ultralets to chat about rents and property investing in general. Then popped in to visit the chaos at the first one, progress has slowed a bit but we've been assured by the build team it'll be done by next week 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 so hoping for a good progress update by then!
