They were a ton of fun to paint! My personal favorites are the second and third pictures- the Weirdgrot and Deadwalka Zombie- which is puppeted by the Weirdgrot. I put this down for a while because I hated how it was coming out, it's a Rebel Grot air ambulance made from that one Buzz Lightyear toy. It's gained some nacelles since you last saw it, part of the reason I put it down waaas that I hadn't converted it very much and it made me sad. All along I wanted to paint it like a UK ambulance, but with most of it being white. I was a little concerned that red squig + red cloaks would be too much red, too. Hi! It's certainly been a while :D I've been busy with university and running the instagram had fallen to the way side for a while, but now we're back!! I've been collecting orks for the better part of half a decade and from young grot to older revolutionary I've become much more confident in my abilities. let this set in motion a change for this account where i post more of my irl WIP model's instead of exclusively mock-ups. that said there'll still be a bit of both, but I've got big ork projects in the orks and it'd be my honour to share them with you all! Artist and general good egg @holyfireman tagged me in a Top 5 of 2023! I decided to actually share painted stuff, everything here is painted and converted. Here's my favourites from this slow and miserable year. I forgot I did so much stuff I liked! Couple of Rebel Grot (as always) tripods, the smaller is my favourite of the two, but I was really happy to complete a huge thing in the egg walker. Then there's a couple of bits of Necromunda terrain, the statue and the fuel lifter. It's so fun to toybash, and also really fun to paint graffitti! Lastly, there's the last minute Flatwoods Monster I made for my darling partner Vee before heading to stay with them in WV for a couple of months. Thanks for the tag, Benet! I got one of these Buzz Lightyear toys when I was in the States, and I was getting in a right tizz about converting it and all that. Then I realised I didn't need to overcomplicate things, just put some patches on it, drill little holes in the corners of the panels to make the underlying thing look Votann, then paint it up to be a Rebel Grot ambulance. I can always spruce it up later if ideas strike me. I never want to hide the underlying toy too much, y'know?
