People's viewpoints just tell on them.. that they don't really know God's Word. Did you know the Bible can be read straight through in 72 hrs? 3 days! That's it. So if you read 1 hr a day you'd go cover to cover in less than 3 months.. 30 mins a day would take less than 5 months... 15 minutes a day would take less than a year. ... so 30 mins a day you could easily read through your entire Bible 2x a year. And you'd get exposed to truth. And begin getting more familiar with reality. We go from faith to faith. So each time around you gather new information OR you get confronted with that which you rejected last time that's still necessary for you to accept (in order to move forward/ find freedom/ get closer to God)... you can go to church and even serve and give til you die.. but if you don't get to KNOW GOD 4 REAL.. Like closely.. and become like Him... if YOU aren't transformed into Christ and learn to walk in AGAPE love.. you've missed it. God has much to say that many don't know/disregard. The catholic church had an agenda of control. They didn't want the Bible translated from Latin to English so anyone other than clergy could read the Word. They were the middle man between the people and God. So when Wycliffe and Tyndale translated it into English they had them killed. The great Bible, Geneva, Douay-Rheims, and King James all had the agenda of control too. They were the leaders of the time (King, Queen or Catholic clergy) and wanted their subjects in line for them... The people in power had money and control so they used that to their advantage. Couldn't beat Jesus so let's join em.. except use Him for our advantage. Not submission. The KJV translators ADDED STUFF TO THE TEXT THAT WAS NEVER IN THE ORIGINAL HEBREW, GREEK AND ARAMAIC... So that's why ppl think some bibles take stuff out. IT WAS NEVER THERE. IT WAS EXTRA CURRICULAR!... So the very translations ppl think are diabolical are the ones who hold the honest to God truth. I read more old testament than NT now I believe now b/c I'm really wanting to get to know our History and God's point of view in the Word and what He did with the people who really rocked with Him. The Bible went from 78+ books to 66. The 66 IS GUARANTEED TO GET YOU TO GOD IF YOU REALLY WANT HIM. Its still Gods Word. Its just less of it. " I was teaching in the older kids class this week and we were learning about Jesus being our shepherd and that we can hear his voice. I told the kids to ask God, 'if you could have a special meeting with me anywhere in the whole world right now (a real place or a pretend place), where would it be and what do you want to tell me there?'
