Just hidden away in the back of a random parking lot somewhere in the north of Portugal. They never disappoint. Here we have a Renault 25 GTS, which means it’s almost the base model and has a simple 2 liter engine. This one was in fairly good condition. Nothing more and nothing less. Sometimes life is very easy.

1992 Renault 25 TXE Executive Automatic On the other end of the spectrum from that Corsa was this absolutely mint and incredibly late registered R25. It was the star of the show personally(I (unfortunately) own one so I'm (unfortunately) biased), and it's perfect. Sure it's an auto, though by this point I'm fairly certain Renault had sorted the explodey gearbox issues. Not only does this example have dealer plates and dealer stickers, but, in what is a first for me, it also has DEALER MUD FLAPS! The coolest things I've ever seen. A credit to the owner in the condition it's in and its only covered a mere 47k miles too. I don't usually post spots from meets or shows but how could I not showcase this one... 1992 Renault 25 Turbo Diesel - G483 ATL I'm ashamed to admit it, but I seem to be midst a really dry spell for spotting; I honestly can't even count on one hand the cars that I've got my camera out for in the past month or two. So, once again, I'm delving into the backlog today with yet another spot from back in the summer, reminding me that I really ought to get back out there soon and search for more spots. That being said, what is out there at the moment? It's really quite dire compared to just two or three years ago, or at least, I think. Even things like MK3 Astra facelifts seem to be tricky for me to spot at the moment, so that alone tells you enough, surely. Anyway, if I'm honest, I'm struggling to think of much useful or inspiring to say about this R25—nothing against the car; it's more about thinking of what to say and having the time to write it all out, which I don't. All I can really tell you is that this has got the pretty rough but robust 2.1 *TURBO* diesel, meaning a mighty 88hp; truly impressive numbers, don't you agree? It's also an import, which appears to have some weird registration discrepancies— apparently it was registered in 1990, yet manufactured in 1992? Strange, but what I'd expect from an import; they always tend to carry some weird bit of misinformation in their registration documents. I would also be able to tell you when it was imported, how many owners it's had, and maybe even where it was originally from if it weren't for the fact that Carbaba decided to put an end to seeing all that information, presumably to make profit from paid reports or something to do with data protection, etc. But anyway, I digress. Quite a few spotters in this community are already grumbling about that, so I won't say much more; it's annoying, but it's not the end of the world, is it. I don't want to come across as sad (I probably do a bit). Also, does anyone know what the blue horse badge on the front wing denotes? 1989 Renault 25 GTX Continuing the theme of much nicer 25s than mine, here's a beauty: An early facelift GTX in a brilliant gold colour! Clearly a well looked after example, the only thing slightly bringing it down was the sunroof having been taped shut(which is an issue I can relate to😬). I don't envy the fact it's an auto though, automatic gearboxes aren't known to be the 25's strongest element... It's currently with it's second owner, having spent 32 years with it's first owner! It's a credit to both. I think it's finally time I talk about, what is essentially, my favourite car of all time. People have asked me in the past what I regard as the very best. And my answer always fluctuates. For the longest time my answer was the Volkswagen Corrado VR6, as I thought it was the perfect blend of style and speed, all compacted in a Golf-based coupe. But then I became acquainted with the art of the saloon car, which really appeals to me and truly is the perfect blend of style and presence. Everything about them is excellent, and though I've talked about it to death, the French Executives have appealed to me so much more than German counterparts. Why drive a Merc when you can drive a quirky Citroen? Why drive a BMW when you can drive a brilliantly economical XUD engined Peugeot? Why drive a Volkswagen when you can drive a Renault 25... The Renault 25 V6 Turbo is my favourite car of all time and at this point, I highly doubt I'll ever change my mind. As much as I love the Renault Safrane, the 25 is a much more handsome and less awkward looking car, especially the facelifted examples. They're just the best, and a faster than average version is always a plus. Plus they're extraordinarily rare, and will always get your attention if you ever see one. Which is exactly why I love them so much. This outstanding example has been in current ownership since the car was only three years old, and has a very clean MOT history indeed. The 2.5 V6 delivers 180bhp, which may not sound like a lot by today's standards, though back in 1989, this packed quite a punch. It possesses a 140mph top speed to boot.
