Lotus Elise throttle body modifications. I’ve had to relocate the cable bracket from the body to the intake plenum. Drilled & tapped the body for a vacuum reference port, this was made from 3/16” Kunifer brake pipe. I’ve also tapped the original breather port & fitted an M8x1.25 grub screw to blank it off & finally, I reamed out an aluminium AN-12 fitting, drilled & tapped for a M5x0.8 grub screw. It was then pressed onto the original air by-pass valve port & secured with the grub screw. While the throttle response on my engine is amazing, small throttle opening drive ability is poor. I’ve done some calculations & come to the conclusion that the Porsche throttle body is just too large at 65mm. This is the replacement. It’s a brand new Lotus Elise Trophy 160 52mm throttle body & comes with a new TPS. I’ve also purchased a new K&N air filter to fit this. We’ve finally made it . Tomorrow is Running Retros Season Opener 2024 The weather is looking like it’s going to stay dry . We hope we get a great turn out for our first meet of 2024 . We are looking for anything and everything pre2000 to come park up with us and enjoy everything Headcorn Aerodrome (Official) has to offer . We are hoping for a good attendance of oldskool BMXs to be ridden around the airfield and to spark off some nostalgia. Don’t forget to check out @ridingretros our sister page. A953JKN is a 1983 Mk1 Fiesta 1.1L which had been done up by my father to be bespoke to its own specifications. Ok we have been and walked the Airfield and we are good to go !!!!!! As long as we do not have a full week of rain it is all systems go go go for our season opener!! All Classic / Retro Vehicles pre 2000 welcome . As last year was such a success we are inviting Oldskool BMXs to join in. So if you have one , why not dig it out and show it off . We have some extremely good news to share with you all also . The Wings bar has recently been taken over by the Bun Buddies and they have very kindly agreed to open their doors just for us . They will be supplying a simple takeaway breakfast menu for all to enjoy . And come lunch time they will be open for business as normal with their amazing burger menu.
