I’m so happy to be feeling better because I finally was able to visit @greenhouseolmospark 💚☕️ It was SUCH a vibe! The atmosphere, customer service, food, cafecito, was incredible. 🤩 My husband and I tried their spring menu, and got their bluebonnet latte, and the blueberry pie latte. 🫐🥧 both were so yummy and refreshing. ☕️ Can’t forget about the food 👀 We also got their egg muffin sandwich and their focaccia ham. Renovations on my little trailer should be wrapping up in about a month or so (keep a lookout for that shiny post, lol). Now, seeing as how today is International Women's Day, I thought it would be fitting to give a shout out to all the hard-working women out there who hold down the fort at home, finish that last set at the gym, take care of our baby-boomer parents, figure out logistics for birthdays and holidays, save every penny to travel, sooth crying toddlers at 2:30 AM, hustle hard with 1, 2, or even 3 jobs all while studying to get a degree, screwdrive together that IKEA furniture, and start fresh in a different country to take a shot at entrepreneurship 😜. Listen, being female ain't easy, HOWEVER, I am proud to be part of a community who are powerful, compassionate, and assertive all at the same time. I was born and raised in Toronto to Greek immigrants who owned a Greek bakery in this beautiful, multicultural city. Together with my Baba (father), Demetrios's passion for baking and my Mother, Eugenia's confidence, Demi's Sweets was born on August 15, 1985, serving handmade Greek sweets and products to the neighbourhood of Bloor St W & Ossington Ave. After 10 successful years, my Baba made the difficult decision to close Demi's Sweets indefinitely as a result of the 1990s recession. Fast forward 28 years later, I will utilize my knowledge working in hospitality/tourism and academia, as well as degree in Communication Studies to restore Demi's Sweets (slightly tweaked) to honor my parents and Greek heritage. My goal is to offer authentic Greek Kafe + Sweets and local specialty coffee through the guiding philosophy, ΦΙΛΟΤΙΜΟ [Philotimo] to create a warm and welcoming environment within South-Central Texas.
