Today, the wheels of the meter gauge train connecting Mewar to Marwar, which had been running for 88 years, stopped. The loco pilot and TT of the train were garlanded and sent off. Broad gauge train will run between Mewar and Marwar very soon. The work of connecting the culture and trade of Mewar and Marwar was done by the then princely state at its own expense by making Shri Ganesh of meter gauge in 1933. On which the first steam engine train ran on the tracks in 1936. Which worked to connect more than 50 small and big stations. After providing regular service for 87 years, the journey of this train ended at many stations today. Only Khamli Ghat will be limited to Marwar. According to the information, before the installation of diesel engines, the railway was operated by steam engines. The well of the meter gauge railway line in Kunwariya is still safe, from which the water tank of the steam engine was filled. For this process, each train used to stop here for about 15 minutes. During this time, travelers traveling long distances used to have tea and breakfast here. Failures! 💔 Almost every CA student has to go through that. I did too. I failed twice in CA Inter G2. It was the first time I faced failure in my academic journey. I did not know what to do and who to hug while crying. I couldn't look weaker when my marksheet already made me look weak. My family was counting on me and I failed them! You know that pain ig. I separated myself from almost everyone. I did not pick the calls of my friends on purpose and then just lied that it was on silent. I did not have any energy left to talk or socialise. The saddest part was that during that time I forgot how to smile. On occasions like Rakshabandhan or Diwali, when my sister tried to convince me to take a picture with her, I couldn't even smile properly. I used to send way too many selfie snaps earlier and now I couldn't even smile for a group picture. I tried taking selfies again but my eyes always looked tired and my smile always looked like someone forced me to take that selfie. Even after clearing the exams, it took me almost 5-6 months to get that happy face back. I still don't have the same glow as I used to. An explorer that I tend to be, I ventured out of the college downtown of Syracuse to see how the residential area of this town looked like. I definitely crossed over the tracks to quite a different reality. Streets here were run down and I haven’t met one person who wouldn’t be under some kind of influence. It didnt deter me to keep walking until even my comfort level felt like it was nearing its stretched too much. At one point, a car stopped with a man insisting I get inside. I didn’t and I got further away from the street… Let’s be honest - it’s when I felt scared. So I FaceTimed my boyfriend to keep me company while I waited for the Uber to get out of there… those 6 minutes felt extremely long. I think I would keep walking if it wasn’t for the fact that I feared to be alone there when eclipse happens and get caught in the darkness… Sometimes… you don’t know until you know… Would I go explore the unknown again? Probably… It’s important though to know your limits and have an exit plan in case of unforeseen situations. I don’t regret being there - just another experience and a lesson… Once in Uber, I drove to near the bus station that would take me back to NYC, where I found a place to watch the eclipse (previously posted) with other onlookers.
