Rollo in 3rd Form and Josh in 5th Form took their Assistant Dinghy Instructor Course last weekend at #ShropshireSailingClub. ⠀ ⠀ The small group had been specifically selected by the senior instructors at the club as having the necessary skills and attitude for the course and not everyone who had expressed an interest in the course was invited to attend. ⠀ ⠀ They worked really hard over the 20 hours of the weekend to qualify with specific comments being made as to improvements in their sailing skills together with their efforts and focus during the course. House Sailing was contested over three days, with 36 participants and this year saw the strongest winds yet - challenging all and causing multiple capsizes for some! ⠀ ⠀ The Junior section was won for Burnaby by Sam, Josh & Matthew whilst the Intermediate section was claimed for Oswald by Cameron, Billy & Dewi. ⠀ ⠀ With the title in the balance dominant performances by Line, Matthew and Sam sealed a 3rd consecutive victory for Oswald.⠀ ⠀ Thanks to Shropshire Sailing Club for hosting the event and everyone who volunteered to help make it happen. Upper Sixth Form pupil Lucy has completed her dinghy instructor course held at the Shropshire Sailing Club.⠀ ⠀ Lucy spent 5 days plus practice time that began in November and was carried out in all weathers.
