I built a house! Well, I helped build a house. In 4 days with direction from @livediff and a crew of 16, we changed a mom and her 3 kids lives forever. It’s impossible to put into words what this trip meant. Not going to lie, I went into it anxious, unsure of what to expect. I mentioned about a week ago that I had a self portrait project I was going to start to explore some of the different pieces and personas within me. I never wanted that feeling of “Well, that’s just life; this is how it is.” I wanted to TRULY live. I was on a call with a girl getting started with my platform the other day. She told me how excited she was to take the leap in creating her own business, yet she felt so guilty. Guilty because so many people around her tell her she shouldn’t want more, that that’s just life, that we’re supposed to accept our circumstances and deal with things the way they are while being miserable about them. We’re not supposed to want more because that’s not how life works for everyone. I couldn’t disagree more 👎🏻 settling “just because” is certainly not a life I want to live. We were put on this earth to achieve WAY MORE than what far too many of us believe or are told at a young age (and prob still today). Thinking “that’s just life” is not only negative & disempowering, but it also stunts our ability to dream. So many people stop themselves from dreaming 💭 about what life COULD BE like and what they CAN achieve. Instead of leaning into higher aspirations, people tend to feel safer staying where they’re at. It’s familiar, and while it may not be enjoyable, it’s comforting; it’s all they’ve ever known. As the saying goes, everything good happens outside our comfort zone. 💯 I have always been a dreamer, I have always known I was meant for more, and I am NEVER going to settle for a mediocre life. I never wanted that feeling of “Well, that’s just life, this is how it is” - I wanted to truly LIVE.
