Whilst this keen sailor sailed and owned many dinghies over the years these 3 were his favourites and what a fantastic fleet they make. All made from glass, solder and wire with paint details in 1:30 scale. They are mounted on a driftwood plinth that has been charred then drifted in the sea giving it a wonderful seascape of its own. Treated in finished in wax to highlight the ripples and texture. Flying Fifteen, designed by Uffa Fox and was first built in 1948. This 20ft, double handed mini keelboat, sailing dinghy has beautiful lines. Tasar, 14.8ft high performance sailing dinghy with its fully battened main and is designed to be raced by a man and a woman without the need of a spinnaker or trapeze. Designed by Frank Bethwaite in 1979. GP14, originally designed by Jack Holt in 1949 with its 14ft wooden hull and used for all levels of sailing. Taking commissions for 2024. Look how perfect that spinnaker looks 😜. Ohh Emm Geee - I haven’t laughed so much in months. Second pennant race was so damn fast we were aqua planing. I’m sure my squeals of absolute delight could be heard throughout Colac! Far out it was fun! Maxi also took to the water on an RL and he too came back to land with the biggest smile. He loved that his crew allowed him to take the helm mid race and I hear he did amazingly well. Great job mate. Feeling smug this morning that our race officer duty would keep us warm and dry in the race box things quickly took a turn for dad and I when the heavens opened as we put the course out. The wind stayed southerly as predicted and I managed to use the flagpole to dry some clothes. Weather shifted from patches of “gosh that’s sunshine”; “why doesn’t the race box have windscreen wipers” deteriorating to “dad….
