We had a ruff time last night. My boy is resilient. I will admit I probably should have paid more attention to Togo as we started the house project. He fought through every seizure and a grand seizure. Now, he's on his meds and sadly his personality has already been altered. Maybe he will adapt, but he is now a vet on meds, slow and wobbly. I hadn't stayed up 28 hours in a long time, so let's just say, I am not in the army anymore. #skylerssiberians

I have been rotating between Bandit’s @nonstopdogwear and @shoproam.co harness for our long hikes but I will bring along her hermspringer for when we’re going downhill and I need her to slow down a bit for both our safety. I always have her @fi.dogs compatible biothane collar from @evergreendogco on her because you never know what could happen and helps ease my mind that i know where she is and I love being able to track her steps! And then of course her @evergreendogco biothane multi-way leash, I usually use my 10 foot leash for hiking to giver her some leeway! I’ve also been thinking about getting carrying equipment for her for climbing purposes in the areas where it’s not necessarily dog friendly. It’s crazy because I’m surrounded by the Appalachian trails and surprisingly they’re quite rocky, you’d think they should’ve been called the Rocky Mountains! What’s your favorite part about spring? Honestly, the only thing I like about spring is the flowers blooming! The things I don’t like are the mud, the rain, the indecisive weather (it was in the 70s and all of a sudden flurries are falling), the bugs waking up ( ticks are my worst nightmare), and the allergies hitting hard! Bandit is happy no matter the weather, just as long as she’s outside! I mean look at that smile, I’m pretty sure she was laying in mud in this photo 😅 I think the plant behind her is called Pampas grass and now that spring is here, it should start changing color and be prettier and more green towards the bottom! Are you afraid of heights? Happy Tongue out Tuesday! So this is the spot on our recent adventure where we had to turn around! You can tell Bandit was pretty tired by the time we made it to this point, but don’t worry I gave her plenty of water and a @ruff_bar ! We made it to that white marking and it was tiny ledges to climb up to the top so there was nothing for Bandit to work with unfortunately. If you are afraid of heights and were at this spot, your stomach might have been in knots if you looked down.. I looked down for a second and knew I had to make the descent! Happy Dog Mom Monday! Tell me a story about a challenging hike you faced with your pup! We found a new trail yesterday and it definitely tested us! We didn’t get to complete it because the one part we got to wasn’t necessarily dog friendly unless I had an extra person with me, and since it was only me and Bandit, we had to turn around. We had to climb up a few large rocks to get to the really spectacular views but one rock was just so big I wouldn’t have been able to carry Bandit with me unless I had a backpack for her or someone to lift her to me. We ended up having to turn around and as we were heading back down, there were a couple rocks she wouldn’t jump down from so I had to lift her, and slide down a couple rocks with the two of us. It was definitely challenging, but worth it! Definitely plan on heading back to that trail and starting from the other end, since it was a loop, to see where it takes us! I can see spring from here! 🌷 This is from when we visited the tulip farm last year and it was so beautiful! Bandit enjoyed walking among the flowers and was such a good girl! Our poor baby boy had to get a sedated X-ray today to look at his right rear knee that he’s been favoring for a few weeks. We were hoping it was just a soft tissue injury that would heal over time, but took him in today because it isn’t getting better. His vet says he most likely has a micro tear in his knee and for now we will treat with pain meds, a little sedation and mandatory rest for 4 weeks 😔 and then we will recheck for improvement or discuss surgery options.
