Burj Khalifa - The tallest designed building (830m) in the world.. The amazingly built hexagonal rcc core is the magic of the building to make it stand against the heavy wind storms and lighting and make the weight of the building balanced.. Can u imagine is it possible to make such a large cylindrical like structure keep standing against the heavy wind storms with the height of cylinder 830m .. So the company made it possible with the inspiration from - construction of dams with the help of buttresses... They used a stepped shape design in burj khalifa and kept the vertical walls balanced with the help of buttresses... And the architects covered the buttress with high use of the glass phasard around the buttress .. As we know that the concrete can bend because of the heavy wind at that height because it can't resist that much of tensile stress and can have cracks if tensile stress continues.. That's why the hexagonal rcc core is provided with many steel bars inside it. And the best method to prevent a cantilever beam bending is to provide it with an I shaped section so u observe that the shape has been made like an i shaped section ... So now the structure can stand against the forces and has become structurally strong.. The top 25% of the Burj Khalifa doesn't have any concrete support as it is provided with steel bars and is allowed to bend and swing for like 6 ft..It is made in a spiral form to resist wind force too For the foundation the foundation is more than 50 m deep and provided with 192 pile supporting the raft foundation then and raft was made with high performance rcc structure.. And at the topmost level it is provided with lighting arrestor to prevent it from lighting from the cloud.. Over the past five years, India Col-laboratory at WATER SECURITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT HUB have successfully engaged internationally with our partner nations including Colombia, Ethiopia, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom on Water Sensitive Planning principles and their incorporation in regional plans, district plans, master plans and zonal plans.
