Night and day. Thatโs AnnMarie and I on so many little things in our lives! But that doesnโt mean we canโt be great friends. ๐๐ฅณโฅ๏ธ The differences just keep things interesting. ๐ And make us laugh when we discover new ones about each other. ๐คฃ For instance, this is my fall centerpiece on my kitchen table. The burlap runner goes end to end. And the bowl, pumpkins, and greenery fill 2/3 of the center. AnnMarie was over a few days after Iโd put it together and complimented it. โญ๏ธ But then she asked what did I do with it all at dinner?! Well, I serve our food from the island, so I donโt do *anything* with it. ๐ฌ Turns out, she serves food at their table! I know itโs a tiny little thing, but it made us both laugh to find yet another thing we do different ways in our daily lives. . {Just Bead It!} I like to create my own wreaths each season and finally had the chance to create this DIY beaded wreath! Aside from running around to practically all of the Michael's in the city for wooden balls (which were then turned into beads), it was a pretty straight forward project. I was planning to post a tutorial to my highlights, but for some reason my Stories aren't working lately. So here's a brief tutorial in the meantime, until I can get it up in my highlights: What You'll Need: (I got all items from Michael's) - Metal hoop / floral ring - Wooden beads or balls (Hobby Lobby has wooden beads, but I am not blessed with Hobby Lobby in Canada, so 1.5" wooden balls from Michael's did the trick). I needed 32 for this wreath. - Real of faux flowers (I went with faux). - Floral wire (or a hot glue gun, if you prefer to assemble items on your wreath that way). Step 1: Make a cut in your metal hoop (to slide the beads onto). Step 2: Ask your boyfriend or husband nicely to add holes to the wooden balls (if you can't get wooden beads from a craft store). You could also do this step yourself, if you have a drill press or you have mad skills with a regular drill. Step 3: Place the florals where you would like them and then attach them with floral wire or a hot glue gun. Don't poke yourself with floral wire. It really hurts. Step 4: Add the beads to the hoop. Step 5: Secure the open ends of the metal hoop together. I used some duct tape and it holds up great (the beads also cover this). And there you have it! Just that simple.
It may not be October yet but Iโve started adding a few fun pops for Halloween. Decorating this season was made so much easier because of my @decocrated fall box! One of my favorite things about the fall is sleeping with my windows open! I love waking up with a chill in the air! It does make getting up a bit more challenging ๐ ๐ When I saw these precious shabby chic pillows by @tatteredandspunlife popping up in my feed, I knew I had to have one!! So cute! You will love it! ๐ Speaking of acorns, we literally have acorns dropping all around us! We have a huge maple tree that towers over our deck and part of the house. So this time of year we just hear acorns hitting the roof and the deck all day long โ In fact, I have heard 3 acorns drop in the time it has taken me to type this message!๐คฃHowever, that also means I am constantly sweeping them off the deck! The way the light pops in the morning makes me smile. In full disclosure, this picture was from a few days ago as yesterday morning was a total downpour. The rain and cooler weather has me finally thinking it is time to buy some pumpkins and mums and I am so excited!
