#TeamRick rejoice!!! We are off the ventilator again today. Was on the vent last night to rest his body, but off this morning. RT asking speech therapy to come and place something over the tracheotomy so he can talk and hopefully have sips of water. Prayer requests today: ✅Strengthening lungs! ✅More movement in arms and legs! ✅Spirit raised. NOT DEFEATED!!!
#TeamRick Thanking God we had 2 kids come in and stand guard so that I could rest this weekend. So so needed! He had a good day, off the vent most of the day. Will plug him back in to give his body a rest overnight. Over the next day or two, decisions will be made as far as further tests/treatments (MRI, Plasma Exchange etc…) The Intesivist (spelling?) position is “as long as he’s improving, we will not interfere with that”. He’s still receiving very powerful steroids, which will be tapered over three weeks. Down the road when he’s medically stable, he will most likely be transferred back to Waco for care and rehab. Personally, that will be glorious to get back home to our tribe!!! Currently, he’s able to shrug his shoulders, move his right arm slightly and move his left and right hands to squeeze hands. Specific prayers is for his lungs to strengthen and arms and legs get to working. 🙏🏼💪🏼💙🙌🏼 (This photo was taken 15 days ago, the day we both started to have flu symptoms. 😳 Within 72 hours of this happy photo, my sweet boy would be on a ventilator, non responsive).
All moved out of hotel and into my car. I’ll be staying with Rick from here on out, just go to the car for clean clothes etc. I’ve been here in his room the majority of the time anyway. Will maybe get a room one day a week to get good rest and shower. Otherwise we camping in his ICU room. #TeamRick

So I need a whistle!! First bruises as Trainor Kristine! Physical Therapist said I could be his Trainor, moving his arms and legs to keep the blood moving. I suck at it, but I’m trying. They won’t come frequently for some reason and with two knee replaced and a shoulder I’m aftaid he’s freezing up! Need Tin Man oil! I did make him smile when I told him he was required to call me Coach Kristine. I think my counting outloud annoys him, but DON’T GIVE A RIP!!! Legs are so heavy!!!! #TeamRick
G’mornin. Feelers: I feel us getting weary. His sweet spirit is tired. We need all this crap off of his face!!! Medical: Trauma surgeon came in and the plan is to remove the ventilator from his mouth and place a tracheostomy. Also to put the feeding tube in his stomach. Hopefully this afternoon. May be tomorrow morning, but please pray for TODAY! Feelers (again): I feel like all this on his face is holding him back. Good night, awake a lot! I was rubbing his legs and he said he felt it! I keep asking him if he knows why he’s here and usually the answer is no. I had a big night where I could stare outside to the sky and it’s as if I could see warfare happening, but it was all outside. I had the comfort and ease of kind that warrior Angels were posted INSIDE protecting us and not allowing anything but love and light in. Just went and got a glass of tea and was so excited about that! I got back and OVER shared with him how happy I was about the tea, I made him smile and roll his eyes at me. (Typical us). Waiting for good news from the Dr any moment. They have a “powwow” outside his door every morning! Keep those prayers coming!!! 🙏🏼 It’s a good day to have a good day!!! #TeamRick

Finishers halve marathon Málaga! 🏁 Jaaaaaaa, daar is ‘ie dan! De medaille van de halve marathon Málaga 🇪🇸! Ricky Rocky & -nu even niet meer zo- Rapid Rosie hebben het geflikt! 🥇 Het was een pittige 21,1 kilometer, waarbij #teamRick en #TeamRoos zelfs tot kilometer 12 samen de straten van Málaga doorrenden. Daarna was het voor één van de twee over met de pret en werd het afzonderlijk van elkaar strijden en knokken tot de finish. Er kan er natuurlijk maar eentje de winnaar der winnaars zijn! 🏆. Maar wie? Tijd om jullie voor nu nog even in spanning te laten 🤫 maar later vandaag zullen wij de winnaar tussen ons onthullen. #teamrood ❤️ #teamblauw 💙 En dan weten we ook gelijk wie van onze volgers het dichtstbij de finishtijd van Rick of Roos zat.. Spannend! Maar… Eigenlijk is er natuurlijk maar 1 absolute winnaar!
