It’s been three months and everyone is still coming to grips with the events on Iona. There’s a lot for each of our main characters to work through- guilt, loss, grief, betrayal, and so much more. But one thing is certain, they must put their differences aside and work together once again to restore the balance that was shattered not long ago. But who can they trust? And can they forgive past indiscretions enough to move forward in a world full of uncertainty and instability?! I adored every minute of this book. These character hold a special place in my heart, especially our broody dark god. My heart hurt every time we got his POV as he was forced to face his past and remain hopeful for a future he isn’t convinced he deserves. Every scene between him and Isla had me begging for more! We get a “who did this to you” and all the “touch him/her and ☠️” vibes you crave! And with the banter and tension between our various couples, I promise you will not miss the spice. And can we talk about that ending?! Simple perfection! I’m going to miss these characters so much! The growth and acceptance they all went through was beautiful and exactly what I wished for them. The Dagger and the Forbidden Heir features plenty of high stakes adventure and playful banter between our two main characters, Captain Elianna ‘Lia’ Solus and Commander Jace Cadoria, who are enemies on opposite side of a war forced to work together to save themselves, and protect their hearts in the process! I was immediately captured with this book from the first page and simply could not put it down. Em takes you through a myriad of emotions right from the start, and trust me when I tell you, you’ll go from heartbroken and crying to wanting to throat punch a certain character (or two) in the matter of minutes!!! The epic journey, the found family, the romance, and the betrayals are all so good! And, we are just getting started! I cannot wait to explore more world building and magic as the series unfolds. Plus, I need more from our favorite magical creature Noxy! With the title of the next book, I know Ems ready to deliver on it all! Fair warning, Dagger ends with a cliffhanger that will have you immediately flipping the page hoping book 2 would magically appear before you!
