Days of Flesh and Bone Rating: 🌟⭐️⭐️🌟 Spice: 🌶️ (1.5 peppers) I really enjoyed this story. It read like the perfect YA fantasy romance with all the cute and tingles, giggles, and humor. The FMC is fairly straightforward and I didn’t feel like she had a lot of depth, and the MMC even more so, but they worked. The story worked. And I enjoyed every minute of this read. Definitely an interesting take on shifters and the supernatural realms. Good evening my gentle readers, fellow bibliophiles, and all ships at sea and in orbit. Finally all the signed volumes of the collection are in one place. Some are first edition books and some are not. A few tidbits about them…Grace Lee Whitney, Stephen Ambrose, David Halberstam, Tom Blackburn, Joseph Lash, and Robert Jordan have all passed away. For those in the know the Robert Jordan is not an autopen autograph like his later volumes have. The Grace Lee Whitney, i.e. Yeoman Rand of Star Trek, will only be found in this format unless one was lucky Trekkie to see her at a con and even then while she was signing pictures she only really did one book tour. The Crow graphic novel was signed by James O’Barr as a thank you for being very nice to him and helping him out at his merch table because he had no one to help. The same with the Grace Lee Whitney. Some are up and coming history authors like Stefane Van Steelandt (@ladyofthearmy) who very awesomely gifted the book to the collection! Some were found in very interesting places like the Joseph Lash was found in a Friends of the Sylva Library in North Carolina and the Anthony P. Tully and Jonathan Parshall in an antiquarian and used bookstore two down the street from the library store in Sylva North Carolina. The Doris Kearns Goodwin No Ordinary Time was found at a library sale in Brentwood Tennessee. Only one can speculate how these books ended up in these places. (Which is quick for me, haha) Miles and Daphnes relationship and dynamic was so fun to read. They're both so understanding and kind with each other. They helped and looked out for each other the entire book. ♡ I also really liked the self-discovery part that Emily Henry puts into her books. Especially with this one. I loved Daphnes journey with learning how to take up space in her life and be more independent. The only thing that took the half star off was the 3rd act "breakup"/ conflict. I thought it was annoying personally and momentarily made me dislike Miles a bit. But overall, I really did love it, and now I really want a physical copy. Oops! I honestly didn’t want to put it down I had to find out what was happening next and learn more about what was going on. Isla is so courageous to be so young and a ruler to her people 🥺 she really just wants to save her people and help break the curse for everyone in any way that she can and she will stop at nothing to complete her task. Ich wollte die Gesichte ursprünglich als Comic verewigen, aber ich habe mich zum Glück für das Schreiben entschieden.😂 Nichts desto trotz zeichne ich von Zeit zu Zeit Figuren aus der Erzählung. Der Scherenschnitt ist eine alte, aber immer noch sehr effektive Technik. Ich habe erstmals versucht,mit Vector zu Zeichen (ich weiß, ich hinke beim E-Drawing immer noch heftig hinterher). No Spoiler Review One Dark Window is a dark fantasy set in a medieval world with a castle, enchanted forest, and a magical curse. Elspeth Spindle has a monster in her head, the result of abilities she acquired from a magical infection. She must team up with her nemesis to collect magical cards to break the curse. Overall, I liked the book. It was a fun and fast read. A few things that may influence potential readers: -even though this is supposed to be a dark fantasy, the tone is lighthearted and the banter is playful, especially between Elspeth and her monster. -the monster is the most interesting thing about Elspeth -I didn’t start out counting, but I ended up noticing 5x Elspeth refused to eat, which may be triggering for some -there are a lot of “lips curling” instead of smiling -eye color is mentioned over and over -some POV issues Despite the above, I still enjoyed the book and would recommend it. #bookstagram #onedarkwindow #bookreview #bookrecommendations #fantasybooks #fantasybookrecommendations #fantasybookreview

Mistborn: The Final Empire – Brandon Sanderson ★★★★★ This review is VERY overdue, I read Mistborn back in March and will be wrapping up The Well of Ascension tonight. Kicking myself for waiting so long to pick up a Sanderson book, but the amount of books in the Cosmere was intimidating! After a thousand years of The Lord Ruler’s tyranny, of a red sun, wastelands and ash falling, of oppression and misery, rumblings of rebellion begin to stir in the Final Empire. Small acts of resistance have broken out previously and quickly been stamped out, but this time things are different. Kelsier, the Survivor of Hathsin when none had done so previously, snapped while imprisoned in the mines and became Mistborn. A natural leader and talented thief fueled by revenge, Kelsier recruits the best of the empire’s underworld—cunning Allomancers who enjoy high stakes and a challenge. Even with the best crew assembled to try to take down the Final Empire, the plan feels like a longshot until Kelsier recruits teenage Vin to join the group. Like Kelsier, she’s half-Skaa—the lower class of the empire who are typically enslaved if they don’t manage to scrape by in thieving bands (like Vin had been until meeting Kelsier). Vin is orphaned, small, used to making herself uninteresting in order to avoid unwanted attention, and very distrustful of others. However, she possesses a power she’s never quite understood or tapped into the full potential of. With nothing left to lose and desire to learn more about this power, she warily joins the crew. Sanderson is truly excellent at worldbuilding—not once did I feel overwhelmed or slogging through an info dump as he shapes his world and weaves his Allomancy magic system into the story. Allomancy is such a unique concept—I found myself fascinated by the logistics of it, as well as trying to speculate how the magic system, Mistborn, Steel Inquistors/the Steel Ministry, and Lord Ruler’s seemingly immense power came about. Sanderson is clearly setting everything up to be revealed in due time, but it’s been fun trying to puzzle out the lore and epigraphs at the beginning of each chapter. (cont. below)

Had the opportunity to ARC read Darkness Comes Again back in February and LET ME TELL YOU. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 From start to finish this book had me enthralled. The prologue peaked my curiosity instantly and the ending definitely had me wishing I could set it down and pick up book 2 immediately. So many of the characters we follow are so loveable, from the sassy FMC and the sweetheart MMC to all the side characters. I cannot wait to learn more about all of them, ESPECIALLY the final chapter appearance. ACOMAF picks up where ACOTAR left off and it was hard for me to put the book down! I feel like this second book is all about Feyre discovering who she is and what she wants moving forward as an immortal. There was a lot of history brought up that fills in gaps from the first book. There were several times when my mouth literally dropped at the plot twists! I just wish there was a little bit more action in this book, but I know it is leading up to it for the third. Btw - everyone talks about Ch. 55 but y’all need to focus on Ch. 54!! Also, I talked about this book so much while on my honeymoon, that my husband started to get reel suggestions for it 😂
