My friend Taylor Abrahamse is a Canadian singer/songwriter, actor, improvisor, voice over artist & coach/teacher, lyricist, musician & a music studio co-owner of Silverthorn (Music) Studios. I took this B&W image as he was singing & jamming with friends in his home studio in Toronto earlier this month. “Creative magic” happens anytime his cool cat musician & his talented singer pals/collaborators or colleagues pop in! I called Taylor “Jack Black” from the 1st time I met him performing at the John Candy Box Theater at Second City Improv in Toronto where we both studied/performed. Spending the month on December & the holidays with music is the only way to rock’n roll into 2020! Taylor is best known for his acting, writing lyrics and music & performing voice overs in “Fangbone“(Disney XD), “Stanley Dynamic”(he plays Luke Stanley) and “Doc”(starring Billy Ray Cyrus). He is always in the midst of new projects & has just released his solo “passion project” of songs. He was a young actor when he was a Canadian Idol finalist. Together with his music studio partner Bryn Scott-Grins, the dynamic duo always put on a fun night of music, singing & conversation. Looking back at #thestanleydynamic, a live action Canadian sitcom I got to play Luke Stanley (ze cartoon!) on. One of the strangest gigs in showbiz! Went through all the paces of the other actors on that show - blocking, rehearsals, sometimes taping two episodes a week, learning lines, learning rewrites of lines… it was madness! And a very fulfilling gig. As much as I was burned out by the end, I miss everyone I worked with, and have some very special memories from it - some more memories to crop up here on Instagram perhaps. Heck, two years of my life was mostly this show!
