DEAD ISLAND 2 "MÁS DEAD QUE ISLAND" Versión para #xbox jugado en una #xboxones con smart delivery para #xboxseriesx 10 años después de su última entrega (Escape y retro revenge a parte) y trás unos años en los que iba a salir y parecía que se cancelaba, #deadisland2 llegaba a nuestros hogares de la mano de #deepsilver . Esto me ha parecido: La trama: Más de lo mismo, virus y cuarentena, elección de personaje, supervivencia de base en base con misiones de recadero y menor calidad narrativa. Lo bueno: Sigue manteniendo el tono macarra y desenfadado característico, además de crear personajes alocados y con mucha personalidad. Además se nota la mejoría en la captura facial. La vuelta de los clásicos o mantener la conexión cooperativa. Las armas y sus modificaciones esta vez sí como nucleo necesario, además del nivel del personaje. Buena ambientación. Lo malo: Esta versión en concreto no da los mejores gráficos ni el mejor rendimiento, además de no dar opción a ello en el menú principal (Ni a la mitad de las cosas como por ejemplo el nivel de dificultad.) Seguimos sin doblaje, la conexión a pros da errores y los tiempos de viaje rápido son salvajes. Los introducen en mapas aleatorios y no mola además de no ser muy práctico el mapa. La repetición narrativa o la falta de compañeros en la história, dando menos aire de supervivencia y dejando a un segundo plano a los otros matazombies. No hay modos extras. Pierde diversión al elevar la dificultad, aportando tensión pero sin ser tan agradable de rejugar. Secundarias flojas. En definitiva y en lo personal, si sigue por este camino en el futuro, seguiré recordando aquellas entregas de principios de los 00s y como se nos brindó un par de juegos sobre #zombies épicos aunque no se vayan a replicar. 6,8/10. #deadisland

A real mess of a movie from Joe Chien who brought us Zombie 108 (another real mess of a movie). Taipei, and in a high rise building reminiscent of every other high rise building from every other zombie movie criminals and the locals live side by side. We have stories running in parallel, kidnappers have kidnapped a businessman for ransom, a drug dealer gets his new stash as he is visited by a rapper friend, a birthday party for a local teacher is attended by nubile friends of his daughter, and a SWAT team that is 99% corrupt head in to take out a drug gang. Not that we see it but the drug turns you into a standard flesh eater, and then anyone bitten turns into one too. The violence is brief and good when it happens, the CGI effects are all computer games circa 2000 level, and the last third of the movie makes so little sense in the scheme of things we get 4!!! Title cards an hour in to explain what has gone on. I won’t ruin it for you here, you will have to listen. There was no obvious lead characters for a chunk of the movie, we had Jessica C who missed 7 people being turned and eaten and killed in her small apartment as she is listening to her headphones, and Andy On, the 1% good cop who does ask if they should even be there... what? Stealing a hold all of money from drug dealers after killing them all? But neither were decent enough characters. On was only straight laced, but was good in a fight, and C was just too painfully thin and painfully whiny, screaming and whimpering at everything she sees. I cared more for his character than hers, and neither as much as the kidnapper and his GF, who Chein wrote out of the story with hackneyed pointless side plots. 3.5/10 and now I need to watch something that makes sense. Und zwar der ganz klassische Zombie: Arme nach vorne, etwas torkeln, "G'hirn!" verlangen und let's go! Und dann dieser Humor.. Es fängt schon am Anfang an. Man fängt an zu lesen und lacht sich kaputt. Ich finde den Humor absolut genial. Ich habe mich beim Lesen wirklich köstlich amüsiert! Der Protagonist Martin ist irgendwie niedlich. Man merkt direkt, dass er seine Frau über alles liebt, sogar bis über den Untod hinaus. Denn sobald sie stirbt, holt er sie zurück.. als Zombie, pardon als Untote! Ja, das ist ein Unterschied! Er möchte das anfangs nicht wahr haben, also redet er sich ein, es wäre ja nur eine Essstörung, er könne sie wieder normal machen. Quasi ein vorübergehender Zustand... Dabei ist es so witzig, wie er einfach die Ruhe selbst ist, während er seine untote Ehefrau mit Hundefutter füttert. Und wie er mit ihr spricht, als wäre das alles so normal. Und wie der Autor den Blick von Martins Frau Sammy beschreibt. Herrlich! Doch die Geschichte ist nicht nur witzig, sie lebt auch viel von Blut, Ekel und Mord und Todschlag. Hier fliegen sehr viele Leichen und Innereien durch die Gegend. Man sollte daher einen gefestigten Magen haben. Der Schreibstil ist dabei sehr kurzweilig und rasant. Die Charaktere haben nicht viel Tiefe aber das brauchen sie in dieser Geschichte auch nicht. Sie funktioniert auch so gut! Kommen wir nun zu den eher negativen Dingen: Eine Szene finde ich etwas fragwürdig. Sie hat mir nicht besonders gefallen, da ich nicht genau deuten konnte, wie es unserer untoten Protagonistin dabei ging. Andererseits hätte die darauffolgende Szene ohne diese Szene nicht wirklich funktioniert. Schwierig! 'Til Undeath bekommt von mir 4/5 🧟♀️
Resident Evil is probably one of my favorite video game franchises. I remember as a kid my brother would play RE 1-3, I'd watch, and be utterly terrified the entire time. Now, I do a run-through of RE2 every October.
