Well this one will be hard to top for myself for sometime. More for the river it came from and catching it on my little dart rod and click reel. It Would have been the cherry on top if I had it on the dry fly, but a little sz22 nymph under a dry is the best I could do as I opted to prospect the beat with the duo that evening. Never could I imagine catching a fish like this in the high peak on such a small fly. Grateful the fish wanted a tiny snack and my knots held strong. A old gnarly trout that Iโll never forget. An afternoon of hard work but reward! Got my pea frames built, the blossom is out on my dwarf fruit trees, I've sorted my tubs out and worked out what needs to be done to fix those that aren't thriving, and I got 3 out of 4 "tattie towers" started in some old tyres that were lying about the place. Rio and his tiny cousin, Dakota the Jack Russell, did excellent work as quality checkers on my seed tatties (some of which are my own from last year!). The Highlander did great work on the dry stone wall we're building to extend out the garden area, and 2 other members of Team Strutt (not pictured as they were too far away!) did a great job of working on the bottom perimeter fence and started clearing out the old stable in the back field. I'm aching, tired and slightly sunburnt (it was blooming strong at times today!) AND.. I stink, badly, because I accidentally tipped a load of old tattie tyre water on myself, but I've lit the fire for a bath, and I have some Nick Drake on the speakers and a wee rum in hand so I'm very, very happy with what an excellent day this has been. So clever how they sourced water, then channeled it so that it would water all of the crops on the terraces. The big question is...
