Medicina Latina Questo drink è una variante al Tequila sul cocktail classico-moderno di Sam Ross, The Penicillin. La ricetta del Medicina Latina è stata documentata per la prima volta nel libro postumo di Sasha Petraske Regarding Cocktails. Il bartender Marcos Tello probabilmente apprese la ricetta intorno al 2009, quando Petraske andò in visita al bar di Tello, The Varnish, a Los Angeles. Ottimo come after-dinner, il drink è presentato qui con un Blanco Tequila (può essere utilizzato anche un Reposado) e un Honey Mix allo Zenzero invece degli sciroppi separati, bilanciando il tutto con lime e un tocco di sciroppo di zucchero. In questo caso ho preferito lo spray di Mezcal on top, invece di versarlo float, per avere più uniformità di aroma. This drink is a tequila-riff on Sam Ross' modern-classic cocktail The Penicillin. The Medicina Latina recipe was documented for the first time in Sasha Petraske's posthumous book Regarding Cocktails. My Good friend asked me to show her little brother around DTLA, So naturally we went bar hopping, going to my favorite bars and some hidden ones behind small shops, we took @bird scooters in between bars, getting better at riding those while drinking lol, Stopped for tacos at @guisados ,ended the night at @cliftonsrepublic that is usually 4floors of bars but only had there tiki bar open, we missed a bunch like @lacitabar a bar with grit and good music but we had a blast, I might have to do this more often! Maybe with a bigger crew ! Spots we visited 1. Cole’s (originator of the French dip dodger fans will tell you it’s Phillips in Chinatown) Cole’s has the oldest liquor license in LA County 1908 2.The Varnish (hidden behind Cole’s) Best cocktail program in DTLA 3.The Slipper clutch (Hidden behind a sandwich shop) Rock music and stiff drinks 🤘 4. Guisados. (fuel for the night) Always delicious tacos as close as grandmas cooking as you could get 5. Broadway bar. Classic LA Bar came out in a bunch of movies 6. ACE Hotel Rooftop bar. Best views and vibes, no matter how cold someone always jumps in the pool half drunk 7. Caña Cigar bar. Good Latin music delicious Cuba Libres made properly @its_carolinagonzalez her favorite 8. Clifton’s tiki bar. 90’s hip hop and tiki drinks 👌 Clifton’s will fully open in a few weeks. Better than an Uber for short distances get a scooter 🤘
