Oh we celebrated a very happy and special birthday today!! 🎉🎂🥳🎈🎁 Bastian, who joined us with his friends for his 11th birthday, returned with the same group for the big 12. It’s been all they could talk about for the last year was coming back to finish Part 2! 🤩 The boys got off to a fantastic start, they got through nearly everything they did last year within 15 minutes. They have better memories than 90% of returning groups! Bastian & his pals must of been studying! 📚 Once in Part 2, they kept the momentum up and fought some of McCready’s hardest riddles. Yesterday, we had another 🤩 booking outside our regular hours! ✨ We had a local school group “The Panda Bears” join us! 🐼 The Panda’s were so much fun. Ranging in age from 11-17 (& 31 😉) The Panda Bears used many skills they use in the class everyday. Math, Geography, English, and most importantly… Teamwork! Our Escape Room is impossible without teamwork, which The Panda Bears showed us so much team work and initiative. Our final team of the day was Team Belmore… and they blew everyone out of the water today! 💥 Team Belmore hadn’t been to any escape rooms since they were first popularized a number of years ago. Being not too far from home, they wanted to give this one a go! 😄 What a fun outing. For being a little rusty in riddle solving, they quickly learned how our room ran, and with the help of only a few hints, they blasted through Part 1, and finished it with 20 minutes to spare! Beating today’s record 18 minutes by Team Wilson-Johnson-Milne. So close! 🏆 Belmore didn’t stop there. They kept going on and ended up getting 15% into Part 2! That beats April scores for sure. This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a special mid week booking… ‘The RISE Ladies!’ The RISE Ladies is a group of homeschool teachers that wanted to do a little bit of team building together. 💪 Little to no escape experience, but you couldn’t tell by how quick they were right out of the gate. The first four puzzles, which usually take an average group around 30 minutes to solve… this group had done in 15 minutes. 😳 They kept that pace up most of the game, just faultering with one puzzle in the middle. The Scherders happened to be unavailable during our open weekend hours, so they did some investable and called ahead! 📞 One of our secrets is we can open up outside our regular hours! So on Wednesday night… The Scherders attempted The Postmasters Riddle! What a lovely time they had. The Scherders relished in exploring the spaces, and working as a team. In particular the younger ones nailed many of the puzzles, and was trying to speed up the rest of the team! Our final team of this very busy Saturday were a delight! ☀️ The Cozy Cousins came to us from Hanover, and it was the first time that these 4 ever all hung out with eachother in one place. Wow! 😮 Choosing Escape The Old Post as your first spot is a lot of pressure… but you know we were prepared for them to have a great time! 🎉 Cozy Cousins got off to a quick start. For a team gaming for the first time, it seemed like the cozy cousins have been hanging out for ages! They quickly put the puzzle pieces together, and even though they only had 4 team members, it never deterred them. It’s always nice the first time being all together for someone to break the ice…🧊 I will leave the secret on who did it and how they did it… but I think it’s something this group won’t forget! 😉 Cozy Cousins finished with 15 minutes to spare, and got a start on Part 2. At 4:00 this afternoon, these “buckled cats” came to prowl the old post, and try to solve all the puzzles within! 🧩 The Buckled Cats were lovely. This was such a cool configuration of a team. These 4 didn’t originally play Part 1 with eachother. They are from a couple different groups, that came together with the plan to finish it! How cool! We don’t see that happen very often. 👏 After a bit of stringing their memories together to get into Part 2, this team had a blast 💥 working on some very difficult puzzles. They couldn’t believe how big all the moving pieces were in this room, and thought they were lucky to beat in time! That’s right. Buckled Cats completed all the necessary puzzles in 90 minutes. It was very close but they did it! 💪 Congratulations Buckled Cats! We were so thrilled to welcome back Team SJ for Part 2 o The Postmasters Riddle this afternoon!! 🤩 SJ came into the building already full of energy and laughter. They didn’t miss a beat since their last visit in January. A bit nicer weather than last time too! ❄️>🌞 SJ had a grand mission this time. Ring the Bell! 🔔 “and we don’t want to be one of those teams that has to come back a THIRD time” 😉 SJ’s hard work paid off as they got a quick start to the room with some great recollection of a long code from Part 1, which propelled them through Part 2. Did anyone hear the Easter 🐣 Bells ringing yesterday?? 🔔🐰 The Palmer-Watsons last played mid October, when our escape room was dressed up like a haunt! They were also the only team to get double scared by our live actors, (same person getting scared too!) So Palmer-Watsons were suspicious to say the least, but were delighted to find the Escape Room looking like it’s normal self, with no one hiding in the shadows! 😉😜 They were thrilled to see our frogs back up in the attic, who observed this team as they fought to win Part 2! 🐸 Palmer-Watsons did their homework and got right to work in Part 2. They were so worried that they would have to start from the beginning, but they remembered more than they thought, with a few tips from The Gamemaster! 👍 This team was exciting to watch, as some puzzles slowed them down, but then other difficult ones propelled them forward! 14 years ago… The Class of SHHS heard the final bell ring in school signifying the best years of your life are over… UNTIL NOW! Yes, the bell rang once more! 🔔🔔🔔 SHHS returned to us with one final mission of completing our escape room and ringing our historic bell! It wasn’t a cakewalk however. They blasted some puzzles out of the water, while others… well let’s just say it was fun for the Gamemaster to watch them bicker under the pressure! 😉 In the end it didn’t matter though as these fun 7 friends finished part 2 & rang the bell with tons of time to spare. An amazing accomplishment in our room! 👏 It was so neat how our Gamemaster Sadie started with this group in December, and I, Sadie’s brother finished with them now. There’s something so much fun about going downstairs to meet a team, a knowing immediately you’re going to not only have a good game, but a good time as well! 🎉 🙌🏻 Team Clark didn’t have much experience inside escape rooms, but this group of friends were up for trying something new. Team ‘Surprise Us’ were a delight of a team! ✨ Easy going, which was an amazing help for a newer Gamemaster who’s now taking on the game! This team was also celebrating a birthday and what a better way to do that than joining us in our escape room! 🥳 ‘Surprise Us’ originally didn't have a team name, but they specifically said to the gamemaster "Surprise Us!" When asked for a team name, so here we are doing just that! 💥 Even though they didn't have an idea for a team name, they did have a plethora of ideas in our room! ‘Surprise Us’ used all four of their minds to push through our room with great efficiency! 🤓 They won Part 1 with a few minutes to spare, and got a taste of all what Part 2 had to offer! Have you seen a happier family after finishing our escape room!? 😍 The Boersma Family had a rare opportunity with everyone home to return to the escape room after 5 years, and bring some members of the team that have never been here before! The expectations were high for the newbies, as most returnees said it was their “favourite” room they’ve ever been too! Did we exceed their expectations? 🤔 Absolutely! 👍 All said after today’s game that out of all the rooms they went to across Canada 🇨🇦 & the USA 🇺🇸 this was the best game out of all of them. It was super unique for the returnees as well to see how our game had evolved from their first visit in our opening year! 😌 What a great 30th birthday for Samuel. 🎂 🥳 They all crushed the room, winning Part 1 with 30 minutes to spare, and getting a whopping 30% into Part 2. What a fun and special booking we had last night! 🤩 The Brewmasters “Brood” (play on the word “Brewed”) isn’t just a fun name… Marvin (far left) is the Brewmaster at Neustadt Springs Brewery . He wanted to bring his family to check out our historical building and the escape room inside! 🔐 How did they do? Wonderful! ✨ These cool cats got to quick work and really worked as a team. They had the extra challenge of two running toddlers who loved the space as much as their family did! 😅 They ended up beating Part 1 with time to spare, and 10% into Part 2. What a victory! Our final bellringers of the weekend came on a special Sunday booking! SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!! We know how hard it is for groups to get the crew together to return, so we always offer to book outside our regular hours. Sunday afternoon was perfect for “Hate Your Guts!” 💪 This team was phenomenal. 70% on their first attempt, lead to some fun shenanigans on this attempt. Lots of laughs and smart puzzle solving. I couldn’t believe the speed this group was going. Their determination to ring the bell was evident! 🫡 Hate Your Guts rang the bell in just 60 minutes. 30 minutes remaining on their spectacular run! Are we sure Harriston still has their hearing after all the bell ringing this past weekend!? 🔔 Team Edgar couldn’t wait to return to ring the bell. They played 2 months ago and had an impressive first outing. They learned the game as they went and finished Part 1 well. The only thing this time was… remembering Part 1 🤪 Not to fret! Gamemaster Jacob brought them up to speed, and they got to work! What a game it was. I think the best part about watching this team was observing what ideas they communicated to each other when they would reach a new puzzle or space. That’s what it’s all about! 😊 Using their 5th and final clue in the last minute of the game, Team Edgar had a photo finish and rang the bell with approximately 12 seconds to spare! Oh you KNEW it was going to be 🔥🔥 when the Fischer Friends walked on in! 🤯 These boys had a big March Break of playing hockey, 🥅 staying up till 4 AM, ⏰ and getting up to play our 5 Star Escape Room! 🔐 The Fischer Friends were hyped when they came in! 🔥 They could hardly contain their excitement as they started the game. What was so neat to watch was the excitement turn into focus and determination about 15 minutes into the game. The Brotherly love was evident as they “cellied” for every lock they opened, and they ended up winning Part 1 with 15 minutes to spare! 💪 They ended up getting 10% into Part 2. Wow! 🕺 Great job boys. They found out the meaning of earning the answers to the locks 🔐 and puzzles and working as a team to achieve them. The perfect lessons and attitudes to look forward to in their upcoming season!! 🥎 They did have another mission… beat the U17 ladies who competed a few weeks ago… the result? U17 were half a puzzle ahead! 🧩 So close! That should t deter this team though, as they still won Part 1, and have the determination to beat Part 2 in a quicker time than the U17 girls.
