I completed this gift order ahead of time for a baby due in September - and it's a good thing as she decided to show up very early! I just love this yarn and this color - it is so nice to work with. #sundaymorningknitting before we leave for the stable. Besides rereading one of my favourite crime series. After swatching a bit, I decided for @tincanknits #harvestsweater in the end. I hope it will turn out as lovely as it looks on the pattern pictures. I love the construction and it's even for free. I'm a huge fan of #tincanknitspatterns for quite some time already as they are so well written and usually come in many sizes from baby to adult. Unfortunately I had to rip out quite a bit of it as I messed up one of the raglan increase lines - entirely my fault and only to blame on bad eyesight, dark yarn and poor lighting late at night, but still annoying. 🧶My first sweater🧶 This is the @tincanknits #TinCanKnitsFlax Sweater done up in a wool tweed yarn I found at my local thrift shop. I really like the Tin Can knits patterns to start out as they walked me through the whole process. For anyone wanting to learn to knit that’s a great place to start! This sweater took me hundreds of hours over 4 months time and really puts slow fashion into a whole new perspective for me. It’s perfect as the days get chillier and I want to be warm in wool! NEW item off my needles! (I'm on a roll here, so get ready to see lots of FO's!) This is the #antlercardigan by @tincanknits . I knit this in @hinterlandyarn range. The gauge is a lot bigger than the pattern so I *think* I knit a 1-2 year size. This will fit a kindergartener. :) I used a 5.5mm/US9. This pattern is so very well written. It was so quick and fun to knit. I highly recommend it! Such a beautiful outcome! And another FO!! This is #bounce by @tincanknits . I used the same yarn as foe the baby surprise jacket I posted about earlier... Buuuuut I failed to write down the needle size or exact yardage. Ha. That's okay though. I can tell you I will certainly knit another bounce blanket and give you proper numbers then :) This is the stroller size and I love how it looks with the two colors! It blocks out beautifully, the lace giving the blanket so much more texture! Last week I spotted a beanie on my workmate’s desk - we had a conversation that went something like “Nice beanie Willie. Did someone make it, did you?” “Nah, I bought it.” “Acrylic not wool?” “Yeah, not wool but I’m a sucker for anything with a cable.” So over the weekend I made him a @tincanknits #northwardhat, which I’d wanted to try for a while. He was very happy with it and let me take a couple of photos to share with you 😁. Wool is #norsgarn bulky by #sirdar - picked up in an op shop and dating from, at a guess, the 80s - swipe to see the last full ball with label for a blast from the past! Great pattern (have used several #tincanknitspatterns recently and they’ve all been excellent); very quick to knit (less than 24 hours) and very warm. My finished January socks! . For the year of 2021, I've challenged myself to knit one pair of socks a month, each completely different. My plan is to choose another designer's pattern, and a skein of yarn that somewhat associates with that month☺️ . For January, I used @ruby_and_roses_yarn in the colorway Snow Day, and paired that with @tincanknits Rye Socks. Happy Friday!!! I am still here. And so happy to say I am feeling better. Very few of you may know that I have been very sick. It's amazing how it feels like night and day when you are in recovery. I am 95% done the first cardigan I started just over a month ago, I just need to sew on buttons and finish it up. So I was so excited to get the 2nd cardigan started. I have high hopes to get all 3 done for my little men for this Christmas. I believe in myself. I got this.
