Одні пішли – інші побачили і наступного разу теж пішли. Одного разу хлопець з іншого підрозділу питає, а в разі нападу куди відступати будемо? Відповідаю: «Відступати не будемо! Ми окопані добре. А відступ - це гарантована смерть. Будемо битися». Наголошував хлопцям, що зі страхом постійно потрібно боротися. І коли до нас на позицію зайшла ворожа штурмова група, ніхто з нас не відступив. Ми були готові. Був окопний бій. Ми їх вибили. У нас тільки одне поранення. А ворог змушений був відступити. І ми втримали позиції!»
