Delta IV Heavy zažila svoju derniéru.🏁 Raketa americkej súkromnej spoločnosti ULA Delta IV Heavy v utorok 9.4. odštartovala na svoju úplne poslednú misiu. Tento štart mal prebehnúť už na konci marca, ale kvôli problému čerpadla na potrubí pre plynný dusík sa niekoľkokrát odložil až do dnešného týždňa. Tento štart bol úplne posledným pre raketu Deltu IV Heavy, Deltu IV, ale aj celú rodinu rakiet Delta. Prvý štart rakety z rodiny Delta prebehol už v roku 1960.⏳ Delta IV Heavy prvýkrát odštartovala v decembri roku 2004. Týmto posledným štartom si Delta IV Heavy pripísala svoj 16. štart. 15 štartov skončilo úspechom a premiérový čiastočným zlyhaním. Táto raketa si kedysi držala titul najsilnejšej rakety sveta, ktorý jej potom prebral Falcon Heavy a následne raketa SLS. Delta IV Heavy bola najznámejšia svojím búrlivým štartom, kedy sa odparený vodík z nádrží rakety počas štartu zapálil a obhoral stupne rakety.🚀 Väčšinu nákladov tvorili utajované družice pre americký úrad NRO, ale v decembri roku 2014 táto raketa vynášala vesmírnu loď Orion na misiu EFT-1. Jednalo sa o prvý letový test (nepilotovaný) tejto lode používanej v programe Artemis a test dopadol úspešne. V auguste roku 2018 vynášala americkú sondu Parker Solar Probe, ktorá má za úlohu študovať vonkajšiu atmosféru Slnka - korónu. Počas posledného štartu pravdepodobne vyniesla družicu z rady Orion. Tieto družice disponujú rádiovou anténou o priemere až 100 metrov a patria tak k najväčším družiciam, ktoré kedy boli vyrobené. Cieľom týchto družíc je zachytávanie elektronických signálov z pozemných a leteckých cieľov vrátane družíc na nízkej obežnej dráhe Zeme.🛰️ Dôvod ukončenia prevádzky rakety Delta IV Heavy je vysoká cena a neschopnosť konkurovať ostatným raketám. Náhradu za Deltu IV Heavy a taktiež raketu Atlas V firma ULA už má. Jedná sa o raketu Vulcan, ktorá má byť oproti Delte výrazne lacnejšia a konkurencie schopnejšia. 🚀 On April 9, 2024, after a 20-year-long career, the last Delta IV Heavy rocket lifted off from SLC-37B at Cape Canaveral, Florida. @ulalaunch’s most powerful launch vehicle cleared the launch pad for the last time at 16:53 UTC, carrying the NROL-70 mission for the US National Reconnaissance Office (@natreconofc). Nearly four minutes after liftoff the lateral booster separated from the central core, which released the second stage 40 seconds later. 🗓 The liftoff was firstly scheduled for March 28. The payload for these missions was a classified government security payload and the only known fact about it is that it (most likely) is in space. ✅ Lancement reussi ✅ - [Information] 🇺🇸 (9 avril 2024) Le 389e et dernier lancement tant attendu – et retardé – de la famille Delta a eu lieu avec succès le mardi 9 avril. NROL-70, à bord du dernier Delta IV Heavy, a volé à 12 h 53 HAE (16 h 53 UTC) depuis CCSFS SLC-37B. Le premier et unique vol du Delta IV Heavy en 2024 marque la fin d’une famille de fusées qui remonte au début de l’ère spatiale. NROL-70 comptait à rebours jusqu'à une tentative de lancement le 28 mars lorsque des vents violents ont forcé le décompte juste après son redémarrage à partir de la minute T-4. Une pompe pour un pipeline d'azote gazeux est tombée en panne, obligeant un gommage. Une pompe de remplacement qui aurait permis un recyclage en 24 heures n'a pas fonctionné et il a fallu plusieurs jours pour que le problème soit résolu. Le Delta IV Heavy a volé plein est, ce qui est cohérent avec d'autres vols de ce type effectués depuis CCSFS avec la série de satellites de renseignement Orion qui ont volé en orbite géostationnaire. Après cette mission, la famille Vulcan remplacera les capacités du Delta IV Heavy.
