GRATITUDE Few weeks ago, a friend of mine (let's call him Idowu) called me and among the other things, he said "...I had to leave Instagram but LinkedIn isn't any better. Everyone is either getting a new job, a promotion, or a scholarship. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one in this dark place. What do I do?" (Paraphrased - I can't remember his exact words). Now, I'm not a shrink or psychologist, but in that moment, I had to stand for my friend. I said something like "Idowu, I might not have all the answers, but one thing I know is that Gratitude adds colour to your life. Let's try an exercise, Think & write down all the things you're grateful for this year (try to remember every minute detail) and on the other side of the paper, write all the things yet undone. Now take out sometime to really THINK and THANK GOD for the things he did for you, the things He did that you're not aware of, the things He has already done that is yet to manifest. And then flip the page and thank Him for the things you're expecting, because, if He did before, He can do it again (Now Playing- Tye Tribbet). I know this might look like a lot of work, but personally, that's my secret. My escape from the dark place, my assurance of the bright days - Gratitude. As I type this, I remember a conversation i had with Mama @naomiosemdua about Gratitude - that is one of her secrets too . I am also reminded of when Uncle @PaulFoh's said he has a journal where writes what he's grateful for EVERYDAY. 🤯. I am still is trying to emulate that - God help me. . At the first @freeconfer in Abuja, Daddy @feladurotoye spoke about Appreciation one of his greatest secrets. . Our ultimate example, @Jesus lived GRATITUDE as His lifestyle. No wonder in the midst of so much darkness, His life was colorful. My dear M, I know there's so much to complain, about, but spice up your life....add some color to it... Be Grateful.
