I'm down on a little holiday in northern NSW and spotted this mint condition VP Calais. With the 1991 VP update of the redesigned VN Commodore, the most obvious visual change was a new grille. But the range-topping Calais got extra attention, with more visual changes to distinguish it from lesser Commodores. The VN Calais was distinguished mostly by its two-tone treatment and unique wheels, but the VP got these partially covered rear wheel wells, chrome trim around the windows, and striped tail lights. Yes, it was more fussy, but you also wouldn't mistake it for a Berlina, or the new Berlina VP that bridged the gap between the two. The VP brought various updates under the skin, but the highlight for the Calais was standard independent rear suspension. So, one of my goals with the commodore is to repair things i did to it when i was driving her as a daily and one of the things i did a couple of times when i used to drive her was hit the towball onto random things cause i would completely forget about it and my last 2 cars have had a reverse camera (and while i don't fully rely on my camera and mainly use my mirrors it is very nice to see exactly how far back i can go while still being able to open the boot soo thay brings me to this .the other week, i separated the boot garnish (with help from @hardy.photographika ). One reason behind me doing things was to fix the cracks in it from the inside and retrofit a reverse camera, but randomly, a few weeks ago, i stumbled across this product on eBay, so today i ordered it and going by measurements it should fit into the number plate light bracket so hopefully it works as such cause my other plan is to modify my boot garnish to have a camera while still behinh factory looking/hidden #vpcommodore #holdencommodore #shitbox #projectcarmods
