Follow the schedule I give you. I have over a decades worth of wedding mornings under my belt. I know how long everything takes. We want you finished 60 - 90 mins before your ceremony time (and that's if you DON'T have to travel anywhere). If you stick to the plan, everything will run smoothly, and you will have time for all the last-minute nervous wees, glasses of champagne, and girly getting ready photos. . 4. Yesterday we were back to Deer Park Country House for the second time this year for Lucy and Willโs wedding . We played for the ceremony and drinks reception . The ceremony was at the Summer house which is always lovely and as it was cold and kept drizzling we went in the summerhouse and 3 of us played standing. This wedgewood inspired blue and white cake was so popular at Sundayโs wedding fair, pairing the traditional with the modern for a look that keeps all generations happy! Surprisingly, the cake cutting is not something that is often thought about. A lot of people think of it as a formality that they will just โtuck inโ to their day. But your cake cutting is special. Itโs one of the first things you will do together as a married couple and is the perfect opportunity for the cutest pictures! So here are my top tips.. 1. Make sure that your cake table is dressed properly and it is in a prominent place. I always say โnobody puts the cake in the cornerโ and itโs true. You need your cake to be against a beautiful backdrop where everybody can see and your photographer can get the perfect shots. No fire extinguishers in the background! 2. A cake cutting takes longer than you would think! Make sure to speak to your wedding planner/coordinator and get it scheduled into your day. The last thing you want to do is run out of time and not end up cutting the most special cake of your life! 3. When should you cut your cake? Perhaps it would be better earlier in the day so that all of your guests get to enjoy it before the drinks start flowing? Or is there a lull between dinner and dancing? Everyone is different and every wedding is different. But itโs definitely an important point to consider when planning your day. 4. And of course, the most important tip of all is to enjoy it!
