Hi there, I'm Lee 👋🏻 I've been intentionally quiet on social media for the last two months and, I won't lie, it's been great. But I'm super conscious that I have new followers, so here's a little bit about me. For the last fifteen years I've had a camera glued to my hand, shooting both photos and videos at every opportunity. Prior to the pandemic, I ran my own aerial video/photo business working with the likes of ITN, but ended up entering the wonderful world of wedding videography after a negative experience with the videographer at my own wedding, hence Red Letter Films was born. I want to ensure that no couple has the same negative experience. I'm married to my best friend, Danielle, and together we have a three-year-old son and seven-year-old boxer dog. 𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢 & 𝘔𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘬 So much love and joy! Looking back at the photos from Veronica and Malik's wedding at Clevedon Hall, you can almost feel the happiness that filled everyone that day. Filled with colourful statement floral designs, this wedding had a real 'wow' factor for guests entering the venue. I always love to repurpose arrangements to make the most of them and the striking archway was used for the ceremony and then moved to frame the couple on the top table with a full-length floral runner. The flower combination of pink and lilac roses, peonies, scabiosa, veronica, delphiniums, clematis and sweet peas created the most divine smell, so you can imagine how beautifully fragrant it was sitting at that table! Let’s talk about the most important part of your wedding day, without a doubt: the ceremony. I’m so lucky to have been able to witness so many ceremonies (and in a couple of incredible cases, actually BE a legal witness) so I’ve seen and experienced my fair share. Something I’ve noticed more often than not? Couples are TERRIFIED of the ceremony, which can really cloud your excitement for the moment. So here is a quick fire of tips that I have for making your ceremony a stress free experience: - If you’re nervous about walking down the aisle, but really want to have that special moment, consider walking down with someone (it doesn’t have to be the traditional father of the bride situation) such as a maid of honour, your child, or even your future spouse! - Trust your suppliers to make it happen. Your registrar/celebrant, musicians, coordinator or venue manager will take control of the moment and you basically have to follow the cues! It will all work out. - Not everyone has the budget for a musician, so if you’re going with the tried and tested (and free!) option of a Bluetooth speaker, then make sure you’re organised. Create a playlist with the songs you need and label them, make sure that the person who’s phone is connected has tested it before the ceremony, and keep the phone being used on airplane mode (please… please do this!). I could write a whole post on this subject alone! - If you’re really nervous, consider a run through the evening before with your wedding party and coordinator if possible. This will just elevate some of the stress and give you the chance to picture how it will play out - If you’re prone to a bit of dry mouth when you get nervous, keep a glass of water tucked away somewhere, or ask a bridesmaid to keep a bottle of water under their chair so that you can have a quick sip I’ll always welcome any other tips from wedding professionals or past couples - what did you find made the ceremony a less stressful experience for you? Wax Seals 🦋 I love incorporating wax seals into stationery, and despite what you may think, they are not strictly for envelopes! ✉️ I used wax seals for these menus to attach the placenames to, which is used as a a way to attach them but also a beautiful detail to the full look 😍 Wax seals come in so many different colours and stamps that they can be matched to so many different looks. 😍 Also a big thing I see is people asking how to achieve the perfect round shape for the seal. Whilst I think there is a time and a place for a completely perfect looking seal, I am much more inclined to have an organic look with the not so perfect circle. Every wax seal is done by hand and is completely unique too which is beautiful if you are going for a rustic or romantic look. 😉 So don't worry about having a perfect wax seal.
