I was gonna take a break from bringing caterpillars in, as the previous brood had some not make it from some virus they sometimes get. It causes 🦋 either not emerge from a darkened chrysalis or are too weak if they do. However, when I found some fat 🐛🐛running out of milkweed leaves outside, I brought them in and got some crownflower leaves to feed them. The 🦋🦋🦋 seem happy to explore my leis before hanging out to be released before sunset if the weather is calm or not too rainy. At the time, my husband was contracted to work in Oahu, Hawaii for several years. Within those years, I traveled back and forth from San Diego to Oahu. Each time excited to learn something new about the culture, art of lei, and small businesses surrounding the island. I was on maternity leave with my second child when I decided to pursue my passion for lei making and turning it into a business. I was taught that the word Aloha has a deeper cultural and spiritual significance to native Hawaiians. It’s not only a greeting. Aloha represents love, compassion, and peace.
