On this visit, it was charming to see vintage cars parked in front of the Talk Story Bookstore not to mention an old school ukelele band accompanying live music to hula dancers. I love Old Hawaii and anything. Hawaiiana and I was so enthralled browsing inside FONDA’S DAUGHTER (https://www.fondasdaughter.com). This was my first time having set foot inside this store. When in Hanapepe, don’t miss snagging a table inside JAPANESE GRANDMA’S CAFE (https://www.japanesegrandma.com) for sushi but I tried Grandma’s Chicken Karaage while Chuck had the sous vide New York Steak. Two huge thumbs up!!! We have dined here quite a few times in the past and the food is astoundingly and consistently excellent. Word on the street is there’s going to be a boutique hotel that is being built. I am hoping there will be more antique shops and restaurant options that could open along this rustic street that could easily make one feel like it’s a Hollywood set for an old Western flick.
