The truth about leaning into the multi-offer approach... While being able to lean into your intuition and your creative urges is great fun, it does not negate the need for a bit of structure and a lot of intention. When you have the best, most unique, most innovative idea for an offer that not only feels like it’s going to be electric to run, but also feels like it’s going to massively change lives, it can be hella frustrating if people don’t right away. Being self-led as a business owner in not about being perfect, being militantly independent, or never allowing yourself to feel anything. Every business coach or strategist out there is going to offer you growth strategies that promise more sales. Most of these will have you pulling back (at least slightly) from 1:1 and creating 1:many offers that give you the opportunity to make more money for the same time and effort. This is not a BAD thing. Who doesn’t want more money in the bank and less stress on the schedule?? It is, however, an incomplete strategy. With all these growth tactics you end up with more followers and more eyes on your day-to-day, and with that attention comes the opportunity for more people to have something to say about the way you choose to do business. With all the new followers you end up with more people signing up to offers where you don’t prequalify and with those sales come more opportunities for to impose their expectations on you and lose their shit if you have to tighten boundaries. With a higher volume of humans interacting in your business there is simply more to deal with in terms of the standards you hold yourself and others to. People don’t always like it when they see you growing and evolving. If they’ve experienced a past version of you it can be jarring to see you with these new standards. Not all clients are going to like it when: 🔥You outgrow your old positioning and shift your messaging. 🔥You update your prices. 🔥You address the things you used to let them get away with that low-key bothered you. And some of these people bay be vocal with their discontent. The big question is: who are you going to choose to be when this happens? ❌ Will you be reactive and bite back? ❌ Will you “feel bad” and go back to more palatable behaviour? ✅ Or will you hold your new standards respectfully, without letting other people’s frustrations impact your day? When you’re in my world and reading my content I know one thing for sure: You are committed to having a business with longevity i.e. one that fulfils you financially and emotionally for years and years to come. That means you have put a lot of work into building out a solid business model: ✅You’ve established a level of brand authority and community around you. ✅You‘ve create a suite of free and paid offers that accurately reflect the work you want to be known for. ✅You’ve settled into a sales system that works for you (more often than not). And I know that none of those things come overnight. You’ve put in the time and effort. You’ve made mistakes and learned from them. You’ve faced your most confronting fears and distracting beliefs. You deserve everything you’ve created (and more) but - and this is a big but - it was all for nothing if continue to treat your audience like a no-strings fling. ❌If you’re all over them like a rash when you have something to sell only to fade away as soon as your launch is over... ❌If you’re love bombing their feeds whenever you’re feeling good only to abandome them completely when you get busy or have something personal to deal with... ❌If you give them *so* much time and attention when you see them as a potential client only to pull back if they’re not ready (or even worse, you pull back when they DO buy)... You don’t need me to tell you that creating high-in-value, high-in-specificity content is a fantastic way to clearly communicate your point of difference and show clients a preview of what it’s like to work with you. But you are reading this post for a reason... 🫠Maybe you’re bored of saying the same thing all the time. 🫠Maybe you’re convinced you’re fading into the background. 🫠Maybe your brain just feels like the ultimate blank screen right now. But we don’t begin and end with strategic action. In my experience, if you’re struggling to come up with an overflow of bold, unique ideas for your (free or paid) content, it’s an “inner world” problem. Instead of trying to force out the world’s most innovative content plan, I would want to see you prioritising getting your energy on point. Because if you are interested in experiencing and sustaining inspiration, magnetism, confidence, and all the other markers of success, you have to be able to balance both the energy and the strategy. You don’t need me to tell you that unplugging from your business and enjoying some down time helps you do better work (and make more sales). This isn’t your first day. When you are the face, the brain, the heart, the core asset of your business, it is your responsibility to make sure that you’re taking care of your needs fully. But let me be clear: doing “whatever you feel like” is not the same as intentionally taking the time to guarantee you’re emotionally, mentally, physically, energetically, creatively, and spiritually taken care of. Anyone can sit on the couch for 4 hours bingewatching MAFS and getting way too invested in those dinner parties... but how exactly is that filling your cup? Functional self-care is made up of the kind of practices that give you a mental break, help you work through your emotions, nurture your physical body, and fulfil you spiritually. It is NOT mindlessly engaging in behaviours that allow you to numb out and avoid dealing with your life. Zombie mode is not part of the vision. Does that mean an officially mandated TV ban? If you're making every late or bounced payment mean something about you, you are not a match for someone who has a high-valume business. But that's something we can fix. RAISING YOUR STANDARDS is how you create a coaching business filled with respectful, committed clients who next-level excited about the work you’re doing together. And if you were my client, here's how we'd go about that 👇 First of all you’re going to take a look at your full suite of offers and get real with yourself. Are you genuinely happy with the structure of each of your client spaces and the amount of access you’re providing in each? Then, we need to turn our attention to YOU. The reality is that WE teach our clients how to behave, so if you’re feeling drained by the people you work with, chances are it’s a “you“ problem and not a case of needing to “attract better clients”. Be honest with yourself: where have you got into the habit of overcompensating? Maybe because you were worried clients would leave if you didn’t, or your bitchy inner monologue told you that you’re not enough as you are? This is also an opportunity to deinfluence your business model from what you’ve committed to because you were told by someone “more successful” that it works... even if that thing always low-key felt a bit off to you. Get clear on YOUR definition of a high-level client i.e. the qualities that make someone an absolute pleasure to work with, and ask yourself: Are you embodying that yourself? Are you modelling the mindsets and behaviours you expect from your clients? Only once we’ve raised your standards internally will we bring our attention to your content and make sure you're speaking to the people you actually want to work with. In almost 8 years of doing business, I’ve had so many friends and family members pay for the privilege of working with me - masterminds, 1:1, group programmes, one-off masterclasses... they’ve been into it all. The best piece of advice I can give you when friends start diving into your client spaces is to be clearer than clear on your boundaries. In client calls and Voxer chats you treat them like any other client. Elsewhere, you treat them like the friend they’ve always been. Your standards matter too. Don’t give them a free pass because they’re a friend. Hold them to what you know they’re capable of. They are trusting you with their future. Don’t half-arse that responsibility because you’re scared of pissing them off. Acquaintances might sign up for free out of curiosity. Friends might sign up at a discount because they want to support you. Soul fam level besties sign up at full price because nobody knows you better. Here’s the thing with having a business that sells off the back of your personality: who you are matters. It’s not enough to have a good quality product because people aren’t just investing in that. They’re choosing YOU. At this point, everyone’s been around the block with investing. We’ve signed up for courses, we’ve worked with coaches, we’ve joined masterminds... and we know what it is to be overwhelmingly disappointed when we didn’t get what we’d hoped for. I don’t want your clients to ever feel that way about you. I don’t want you dealing with people dipping out of your contracts, or posting passive aggressive digs in FB groups, or starting group chats with other clients so they can all vent together... So how do we avoid that mess? How do we make sure that the people who come into our world leave happy, with their expectations more than exceeded, and only great things to say about you? Keep acting like the person you showed yourself to be during your launch. Never allow yourself to be one person when you’re trying to get people to buy from you, and another once you have their money. Do not pedestal the clients whose results make you look good while ignoring what’s going on for everyone else. If there are a disproportionate number of people not getting the results either of you had hoped for... pay attention and do something about it. Stop treating your values like a cheap marketing ploy. If you “stand for” something we should see it clearly in every bit of content, in every training, in every aspect of how you work with clients. There shouldn’t be a disconnect between who you are when you sell vs who are when you deliver. When you have a personal brand you are creating an expectation. How I've made FUN a standard part of how I do business 👇 Yesterday was a very average Monday for me. I planned my week, pulled some cards, launch my new 3-month mastermind, had a fab call with a client, created some very bold content, binged a bit of Gossip Girl, coached 3 different clients in Voxer *and* finished my book... The key to a sustainable business (i.e. one that pays you well without requiring you to burn yourself out or sell your literal soul) is attracting clients who are so delighted by the work you do with them that they decide to stay. If you’re relying on mean girl marketing, you’re slowing (and potentially stalling) your ability to create this. Mean girl marketing makes a grab for “low hanging fruit” clients - people who are desperate, or depressed, or increasingly bitter after past investments. People who “just need something to work”. And I think it’s time to get real with yourself... Is that the person you want to be? Preying on people who are at rock bottom? Are those really the people you’re going to have the time of your life supporting? Are they going to be capable of matching your energy? Of believing that together you can create exceptional results? When you don’t have a healthy relationship with money, big feelings come up whenever you’re “forced” to think about where it’s coming from, where it’s going, and how to make more. For you it might be guilt. It might be fear. It might be sadness. It might be hurt. Or, if you’re anything like 90% of my clients, it might be anger. See this anger for what it is: A helpful sign showing you exactly what you need to clean up and release. Nothing more. If we were working together on your income plan and I saw you start seething like a walking volcano about to erupt, here’s what I’d recommend: 💸 Start by owning what’s coming up instead of pretending you’re and powering through. 💸 Drill down deeper on the specific tone of this emotion. Anger can have many flavours - frustrated, critical, bitter, jealous, hostile, betrayed... 💸 Really think about where these specific feelings could be coming from. Particular experiences you’ve had? Clear memories from your early life? Assumptions about “the way things are”? 💸 Face this shit head on and do everything in your power to fully clear whatever limiting thought or emotion you’re clinging to. 💸 Decide on your new norm. What are you replacing those archived beliefs and behaviours with. How will you reinforce this new way of looking at money. When you start seeing money as a neutral resource that is there whenever you need it, everything changes. These are my top 3 underrated things I think every business should do at the beginning of the year (whether that’s Jan 1st, April 5th, or whenever you get back to work for the new biz year). 1️⃣ Put your breaks in your email footer - Schedule them now, even if you don’t have anything specific planned. By planing work around these dates, you’re more likely to take regular breaks and avoid burnout or overwork. 2️⃣ Audit your brand to check everything is aligned - Everything evolves! It’s the perfect time to check that everything is serving you well. Do your visuals match? your social accounts, bios, content types, messaging, packaging, opt-ins etc all match each other, and your current business goals. 3️⃣ Set a business goal that relates to a personal goal - It’s REALLY easy for your job to take over your life, especially if you enjoy it. To combat this, I set a couple of biz goals that directly support the lifestyle I want to have: ‘I want to make more time for a hobby, so I will not work Friday afternoons’. Why are you so surprised that nobody is seeing the no-brainerness of your offers when you're CONSISTENTLY treating yourself like a fall back option?? Undervaluing yourself can look like: ❌ pricing based on what you think people will pay ❌ stacking your offers with bonuses so it looks like an extra extra good deal ❌ bartering ❌ not sticking with your word and allowing people to purchase at a lower pricepoint after the deadline passes ❌ ignoring the boundaries you’ve set for your working hours ao your clients feel “extra taken care of” ❌ offering people something low ticket when you know they’d really be a better fit for close proximity But undervaluing yourself does not start and end with how you price and sell your offers. Maybe you also need to clean up how you show up in your personal life. 🤔 Do you feel like you have to “earn” your place in every friendship group? 🤔 Do you avoid saying what you really think to your friends in case there are “consequences”? 🤔 Do you feel like you have to work hard to be a good girlfriend/partner? 🤔 Do you avoid voicing your needs and asking for what you want? 🤔 Do you find yourself shrinking around your loved ones just to “make things easier”? Here’s the reality: Your work changes lives. It is your job to help the right people understand that. If you can’t stand strong, own your voice and boldly believe in the gamechanging shit you bring to the table, you can’t expect anyone in your audience to just figure it out for themselves.
