Three weeks later, enter a movie theater and it’s still a packed house to watch the beloved villain story of Joker. @jokermovie is on its way to becoming the top grossing Rated-R movie of all time, currently being held by Deadpool. Does “Joker” deserve the hype that is around it? One hundred percent. Comic book fans know that we never truly got a backstory for Joker, we just knew he was the best villain. Todd Phillips (@toddphillips1) and Joaquin Phoenix gave us the story we didn’t know we needed. Phoenix’s performance alone is worth the price of the movie ticket. We dare you to try to take your eyes off him for a second. The underline message of mental health awareness is appreciated and the social commentary is done so well and never comes off preachy. It does have a slow pace for those who think it’s going to be nonstop action or those who are accustom to average comic book movies. “Joker” isn’t that. Our only hope is that they don’t let this story fall away. It’s been a steady rise for the last few DC movies and we hope that this shows the people over at Warner Bros. the beauty of giving more creative freedom to the directors and writers without trying to micromanage everything. So to the one person in the world who has yet to watch “Joker”...in the words of Jennifer Love Hewitt, “what are you waiting for?.” Must watch. #weednreview #weednrampage *
