Movie Review Movie Title: Strained Source:Netflix Genre: Drama Starring: Queen Nwokoye. Tracy George. Stanley Nnabuike. Padita Agu. Plot: A daughter and her long estranged mother reunite and settle their differences after she puts to bed. Review. I'd say that this is one movie with a simple storyline and a linear direction, and the Actors and Director brought it to life in a simple manner. Settings and Location was good, not like they used many locations but the places used gave the movie a good feel. The Music and Custume were good. Acting was good. At a point it felt like a three character movie. Queen Nwokoye really needs to be given more scripts. Here's where I had one or two problems. The progression and emotional investment. The scene where the “elephant in the room” was addressed. It could have been better played, and this could only have happened if the acting and the actors were in sync. I know I said the acting was good and I meant it but it was good individually. The progression of the story didn't allow us to be fully invested in the characters also a bit of background or flashbacks would have helped. When what we finally expected to happen, and I say expect to happen because really no part of the movie took me by surprise, when it happened it was just there. Bland and dull. There was no action or suspense displayed. Even that slap could have been better. The pictures and trailer of the movie prepares you for an emotional roller-coaster, but the movie itself does not deliver on it. I dare say the ending could have been better too. Strained, like I said earlier is a simple movie with one of the simplest storylines ever. I loved the fact that the issues like domestic violence raised was addressed and a solution given. Strained is a relatable and good movie and I think you should watch it. The language also made it sweeter. Rating: 7/10. Side Nuggets 1.Queen Nwokoye looked like a grandma all through, but that Make Up scene showed us the truth. 😂 2.The name “Nne Mummy” she kept calling her daughter made me smile because I have an aunt who calls me exactly that. 3. The baby was never given a name. Everyone kept saying "

the autopsy of jane doe 2016 review.🫀 rating: 🔪🔪🔪🔪 i was hooked on the story from start to finish. it's so well thought out while still being very simple and straightforward. however it's so effective. the horror elements are kept light and slowly builds up which fits the pace of the story so well. the cast was great. i really loved the chemistry and dynamic between father and son. you just grow to care for them. it's pretty much a one location movie and i really like that. there's a lot of camera work and directing choices i'm obsessed with. i hate using the word artsy as a positive thing when it comes to movies but this is so beautifully made i wanna call it almost artsy in the best way possible. i didn't see the "twist" coming at all. i was so shocked. the fact that they don't give much away just gives you that experience of being truly shocked and it was so effective. the special effects are great. there's a few jump scares that starts building a while before the actually scare comes and it was just so well paced. the music building it up, the atmosphere, honestly just obsessed. the ending was heartbreaking but it concludes the story well and i think it was "clever" to take that route. i think it's pretty clear that i absolutely loved this movie and i would definitely recommend it and i'm also for sure gonna rewatch it. #movie #horror #horrormovies #horrormovie #horrorfan #horroraddict #horrorfilm #horrorjunkie #horrornerd #spooky #emo #emogirl #spookyqueen #halloween #horrorcollector #horrorlover #horrorcommunity #physicalmedia #physicalmediaforever #horrorgeek #horrorreview #horrorreviews #horrorreviewer #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #theautopsyofjanedoe #supernatural #supernaturalhorror #emilehirsch

‘The Fall Guy’ wasn’t initially a movie that piqued my interest because I thought it had a generic look at first glance. However, I'm glad I was wrong. I was very pleasantly surprised while watching it, as it exceeded my expectations in every aspect.

I don't know much about the world of Avatar. I'm not familiar with the original animated series, but I did watch the awful 2010 movie. Going into this new show, I was very curious to see how it would turn out. #netflix usually fumbles the bag with stuff like this, but when they put in the work, the final product can be something really special and unique. This show falls somewhere in the middle. It's an enjoyable watch, but it often does remind me of what Netflix usually puts out. The strongest aspect of the show are the visuals. I loved seeing the world of Avatar brought to life in live-action and thought that the world-building was pretty good. The sets and costumes are great, as is the action. The powers look very cool in live-action, particularly the waterbending and firebending. The CGI is mostly great, but sometimes the green screen looks pretty obvious. Narratively, the show leaves a lot to be desired. The story is good, but it's unevenly paced and while some parts move very quickly, others drag too much. The Omashu episodes are perhaps the most boring. I had a very hard time caring about what was happening. The writing is not always great. There is clunky exposition, underdeveloped characters and lots of telling instead of showing. The acting is good, but there is definitely room for improvement. While #gordoncormier , #kiawentiio , #ianousley and #dallasliu all do a good job, sometimes their acting feels stilted and unconvincing. #danieldaekim and #paulsunhyunglee are very good while #elizabethyu , #ambermidthunder and #mariazhang also make an impression. Ultimately, Netflix's Avatar isn't incredible and has a lot of flaws, but it still offers a good time. I'm excited for Season 2 and I hope it'll be better. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #tvreviews #tvreview #tvshows #avatar #thelastairbender #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #filmreviewer #filmreview #filmreviews #reviews #review #cinema #cinephile #reaction #streaming #entertainment #aang #katara

Flubber was directed by Les Mayfield and stars Robin Williams, Marcia Gay Harden, Christopher McDonald, Raymond J. Barry, Clancy Brown and Ted Levine. An absent-mined professor discovers "flubber", a rubber like super bouncy substance.  I'm sure we all remember owning this one on VHS, don't we? We all had this in our VHS collection when we were kids. I always remember the last trailer on the reel of that VHS was the trailer for Lion King II: Simba's Pride. Some reason that always stuck with me, might have been the tribal trailer song that played.  Anyway, as a kid, I enjoyed it. It's a very silly film with the legendary late Great Robin Williams. But when it first came out, it wasn't much of a hit with critics. A lot of people really did not like it. But in my opinion, Flubber isn't actually that bad. It's one of those films that knows what it is, and knows how silly it is, and that's why I like it. Flubber came out at the time when Disney films were gaining popularity. Well, family films in general really. Including films like this one, Hercules, MouseHunt, A Bugs Life, George of the Jungle, and other good ones. Robin Williams plays the absent-minded professor Phil Brainard, and let's be honest. When has Robin Williams not been good in this type of film? The guy was and always will be one of the funniest comedians and actors in cinema. He was quite a good choice to play the great but silly professor. We've also got Christopher McDonald as the bad guy and... Okay. When hasn't he played a great bad guy? When he was in Happy Gilmore as Shooter McGavin, and in The Iron Giant as Kent Mansley. I've actually met him at Wales Comic Con back in 2021 I think it was. Or it might have been 2022. Either way, when I met him, he was a nice guy, and if I ever review Happy Gilmore again, there's a little story I wanna tell. (Cont in comments)

#boykillsworld Boy Kills World (2024 action/comedy) Director: Moritz Mohr Starring: Bill Skarsgård, H. Jon Benjamin, Quinn Copeland, Andrew Koji, Isaiah Mustafa, Jessica Rothe, Famke Janssen, Michelle Dockery, Sharlto Copley, Brett Gelman, Yayan RuhianIsai While moments of the action is disorienting shaky cam, in spite of that "Boy Kills World" has enough dark humour & energy in it's hyperactive cartoonish world of blood-soaked violence & twisted old fashion revenge that kept me entertained. "Boy Kills World" supporting characters like the villains, they all do their jobs within the performances & they're there to be loud, bickering & simply evil. Basho (Andrew Koji) & Benny (Isaiah Mustafa) were great entertainment as the wildcard partners to Boy, & throughout the violence, the movie never forgets the heart of the story & the lack of dialogue between Boy (Bill Skarsgård) & his imagination of his dead sister, Mina (Quinn Copeland) didn't harm their on screen emotional bond that stays. #billskarsgard #hjonbenjamin #quinncopeland #andrewkoji #isaiahmustafa #jessicarothe #famkejanssen #michelledockery #sharltocopley #brettgelman #yayanruhian #newrelease #cinema #cinephile #vuecinema @vue #action #actionmovie #moviereview #movie #moviereviewer #moviecommunity #filmreview #filmcommunity #movielover #lovemovies #movienight #movietime #filmcritic #review

Relax, I'm From the Future was directed by Luke Higginson and stars Rhys Darby, Gabrielle Graham, Janine Theriault and Julian Richings. The film is about a man from the future, now trapped in the past who tries to make a life for himself, oblivious to the consequences he has set in motion. I know what you're all thinking. Weren't you gonna review Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire. That will come, I promise ya. But my mum recommended this to me, saying it's a daft but fun film. So, of course I thought "Why not? Might as well give it a go." And I'm not gonna lie, she was right. It was a daft film, but damn did I enjoy it.  The thing about Relax, I'm From the Future is that it's one of those films where you don't have to take it too seriously. Sure, there are some scenes where it gets kinda deep and heartfelt, and in the climax, it has a little bit of gore in it. What's not to like? We have Rhys Darby playing the clueless time traveller Casper, who tries to live in the world he finds himself in after travelling. I loved him in this film, he reminded me of his character in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and the Next Level, you know the NPC guy Nigel? Him. Yeah, he was great in this one, as was Gabrielle Graham as Holly. At first she's hesitant on trusting him, but after she does, she still thinks he's taking the mick with it. I liked them both in this film. Before I go into the gripes, I wanna say how it was very reminiscent to other time travel and multiversal films while also mocking the whole concept. The main film it reminded me of was Everything Everywhere All at Once. I loved it for that.  I do have one gripe with the film. Sure, it's not a perfect film by any means of the imagination, but some of the comedy didn't really work for me. Some of it fell flat unfortunately, because I did laugh in a few scenes. That and I thought the villain felt a bit bland to me, just a little bit boring, you know? She felt like Dar Benn from The Marvels. A villain with no substance unfortunately. (cont. In comments)

UNDER THE SILVER LAKE Directed by: David Robert Mitchell Score: 6 First time watch It’s been about 2 weeks since I saw this movie, but I still can’t get over the fact how absolutely weird and strange this movie is. It starts out rather simple, when we meet Sam (Andrew Garfield), he seems like a stoner and a stalker. Interested in his neighbors, he falls down a deep rabbit hole of mysteries and conspiracies. And I’m in no way capable to even to begin to summarize the story, because it’s just too weird. I like Andrew Garfield, he’s one of the best younger actors working today, and I like that he’s capable in leading a big budget superhero flick, but also to make a smaller movie like this work. And to be fair, he is the main reason I finished the movie. I will watch anything he’s part of, even if the movie itself lost me somewhere in the second act Did you watch this movie, and how did you like it? #underthesilverlake #A24 #a24films #andrewgarfield #rileykeough #tophergrace #calliehernandez #movie #movies #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #moviereviewers #movierecommendation #movietime #movieaddict #movielover #pma

Late Night With the Devil I was honestly not expecting to like this, lol. Figured it would just be another drop in the try to try too hard bucket, but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. Didn't rely on boring, played out horror movie tropes. Had an unusual and interesting story line, flowed well, actors were convincing, kept me very engaged (yea, surprising). Here for the action, violence, and gore? Be rest assured, you'll get what you're paying for! This film had a beautiful display of martial arts! I wanted to say that first and foremost. The techniques, the movements, the sense of urgency to inflict bodily harm in hand-to-hand combat... BEAUTIFUL! This is a movie that never takes itself seriously and takes every opportunity it can to earn a chuckle from the audience. The bad guys are cheesy, but I promise you won't mind them. Filled with dark humor and laughable moments, this film has style! I kept thinking about Scott Pilgram Vs The World, Wanted, Kung Pow Enter The Fist, and Fight Club when watching this film. Maybe that will give you an idea of what kind of movie this is. • #billscarsgard #boykillsworld #martialartsmovies #actionmovies #actionfilm #actionfilms #moviereviewsblog #moviereviewer #moviereviewers #horroraddicts #horrorfiend #horrorhound #horrorgirls #horrorboy #horrorgirl #horrorgram #horrorobsessed #readmorehorror #readinghorror #horrorbookstagram #moviefan #moviefans #watchingmovies #movieobsessed #bloodandgore

#QuickMovieReview BOY KILLS WORLD (dir. Moritz Mohr) Got to say I rather enjoyed #BoyKillsWorld. For better or worse, it’s absolutely bonkers and a lot - possibly too much - to take in at times but vibe with it and you’ll have a good time. The hyperactive energy and quirky humour swing wildly from endearing to annoying throughout but when it’s at full speed it slaps pretty hard, with impressively executed fight sequences, cool world building, and Bill Skarsgård fully committing to the bit. I will never look at a cheese grater the same way again though. Score: ★ ★ ★ ½

For those that are unfamiliar, Late Night With The Devil follows the story of a late-night talk show host who, in an attempt to boost dwindling ratings, brings on an allegedly possessed girl for his Halloween special in 1977. One aspect that I particularly enjoyed about this film is how it all seemingly takes place in real time. This is a rather tricky technique to pull off, because you’re dictated to exist in real-time and forced to maintain a certain level of intrigue and tension in each passing second without the luxury of being able to cut to the next hour or day. In this case, you’re trapped with Jack Delroy from beginning to end as he navigates his 90 minute episode, both live on TV and between commercial breaks. Some films employ this method as a gimmick, but in this case, it actually elevates the narrative to a level it wouldn’t have otherwise achieved. As events begin to escalate, you start to experience the same level of anxiety and confusion that Jack himself faces as he’s obligated to keep the show going, no matter the cost. It’s great editing, excellent writing, and overall a very intelligent way to foster suspense. However, this all would’ve amounted to nothing if it weren’t for the incredible performance from David Dastmalchian, who once again proves himself to be one of the most underrated and under-appreciated actors working today. One thing David is especially remarkable at in particular is portraying a man haunted by thoughts of inadequacy and severe trepidation, which is precisely what this movie required in order to make the story work. The range of emotions necessary to embody a man that’s conflicted by a desire to be seen in contrast of being exposed to the horrors of the supernatural is a very thin line to walk, and yet David pulls it off with beautiful strides. However, I do think the movie begins to lose itself in the third act. Contrasting its previous slow-burn approach, it instead turns a bit bombastic in its presentation, implementing some pretty egregious CGI that heavily removes the audience from the viewing experiencing. But overall, I thought this was a very unique and effective horror film, and absolutely a standout in 2024.

FIGHTER My comment: A nice patriotic story, not that much of a story line but can watch it for Hrithik Roshan. They have showed all emotions of a army person and there are also few messages in the movie that will really reach people. A good friendship is shown, love for the country is portrayed good and the movie is totally based on country’s love Can watch it once My rating: ⭐️⭐️.5/5 Available in @netflix_in #netflix #netflixseries #netflixsuggestions #netflixmovies #netflixmovie #netflixrecommendations #netflixreview #ottrelease #ottreleasesindia #ottupdates #movie #moviereview #movieupdates #hindimovie #thiraipadamreviewpost #moviereviewer #movierecommendation #fighter #fightermovie #hrithikroshan

Quick note here: are horror films back? I see this and hear reviews of Sting and The First Omen, aside from a few horror films, most of them have been either quite good or bangers. Alright with that out of the way, everything about this film should not work, a lot of the music decisions should not work and a film about a group of would-be criminal who kidnaps the daughter who just happens to be a bloodthirsty ballerina vampire and is stuck in a house with it SHOULD not work and yet it does.⁣ ⁣ That is a long way of saying the film is unpredictable, quirky and fun in the best way. If you had the pleasure of watching Ready or Not, then this film has a similar DNA to it taking unconventional themes and having fun with it while delivering the thrills and blood horror fans want. Among the cast, while most of them are your typical stereotypes in a horror film, they all bring their own unique personalities into the mix. Melissa Barrera and Dan Stevens are probably the best of the bunch though Dan Stevens/Kevin Durand has some of the funniest moments in the film. ⁣ ⁣ But by far, Alisha Weir is such a delight to watch. What an amazing actress when she manages to really show her fangs and become a deadly force. She is terrifying in this film yet brings forth some of those more unconventional scenes that brings a sense of joy into the art of killing. ⁣ ⁣ The film is also quite unpredictable in the sense that you don’t know how the film will end, or who’s gonna survive or die and is constantly being creative when it comes to the eventual kills which is fun and exciting to watch. Yes, I correctly predicted the one who dies first but that doesn’t take away the creativity it puts into the film as the group is essentially stuck in a creepy mansion with the vampire. #abigail #alishaweir #melissabarrera #danstevens #kevindurant #kathrynnewton #williamcatlett #anguscloud #giancarloesposito #moviereviews #moviereviewer TBC 👇🏾

Though it doesn't recapture the authentic frights of the first film, I appreciated how they added to the story. More characters, a larger house, and new video cameras—unfortunately, less is more sometimes. Two people stuck in a haunting was a lot more terrifying than a full house. I can respect trying to go bigger in the sequel, but it was simplicity that made the first film so great. Does anyone agree with this? What the sequel did manage to accomplish was build an engaging story, end on a cliffhanger, and leave me wanting to know where it will be going. It made me invested in the story and lore of the franchise to come. • #paranormalactivity #paranormalactivity2 #scarymovies #horrormovie #horrormovies #horror #horrorfan #moviereviewsblog #moviereviewer #moviereviewers #horroraddict #horrorfilm #horroraddict #horroraddicts #horroraddiction #religioushorror #readmorehorror #readinghorror #horrorgram #bloodandgore #horrorgirl #horrorgirls #horrorboy #scarymoviesandchill #horrorbookstagram

⁣ ⁣ Immaculate (2024)⁣ ⁣ Immaculate follows a young nun named Cecilia (Sydney Sweeney) who has discovered that she’s pregnant despite her vow of chastity upon joining a convent. The film grows more sinister as Cecilia learns her pregnancy is part of the convent’s larger plan and she will be forced to bear the child at all costs.⁣ ⁣ Unfortunately, the film falls into a formulaic pattern and suffers from a lack of originality. Every plot point, every line of dialogue, every action was predictable. While the story explores an almost “evil scientific” subplot with intrigue, it only skims the surface, leaving much to be desired. Sweeney’s commitment to her one-take wonder ending scene makes up one of the best performances in the film, but other than that, all of the acting sums up to a forgettable experience. ⁣ ⁣ Aside from lackluster writing, drab acting, and little character development, the film is elevated by its ominous, candle lit cinematography and the beautiful ecclesiastical aesthetics. With visuals like that, anything would surely fool audiences into thinking it’s a well-written masterpiece. The editing, sound, original score, and special effects are all honorable mentions. ⁣ ⁣ Overall, Immaculate doesn’t push any boundaries and fails to flesh out any of its nuanced ideas. I don’t highly recommend it, but it’s perfect for a casual Friday movie night if you’re simply in the mood for something new. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #scarymovie #immaculate #immaculatemovie #religioushorror #spookyfilm #darktales #movienerd #filmgeek #filmcritic #filmcriticism #filmcritique #filmcritics #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #nunmovie #movienight #movienightathome #filmstagrammovieclub

The Name of the Rose (1986) or when the saints become the sinners An abbey - a place of peace and quiet - unless you live in the 14th century and are a monk at a certain Benedictine abbey in Northern Italy. The inhabitants of said abbey have been shaken by a mysterious death that just before an important theological conference takes place there. Thankfully Franciscan friar William of Baskerville (Sean Connery) who is known for his wisdom and knowledge and his novice Adso of Melk (Christian Slater) have just arrived to participate in the conference. While William plays medieval Sherlock Holmes, more deaths occur. Can William find the murderer before it's too late or will he become a victim himself? I cannot resist a good murder-mystery film because that's where I can put on my imaginary deerstalker and pretend I am the next Miss Marple, well a younger version at least. And this film delivered. There are numerous mysterious deaths, plenty of suspicious people and a setting that helps in creating an ominous atmosphere. Sometimes the score remains in the background and after the credits have rolled I can barely remember it - not this time though. James Horner masterfully understands how to create suspense and increase the sinister ambience with the power of music. Sean Connery portrays the wise, level-headed and rational William of Baskerville very well. He radiates an auror that makes you instantly trust him much like a beloved grandfather figure. As contrast you have the innocent and naive Adso who has no clue how the world works. Christian Slater does an excellent job in playing the young Aldo who still has much to learn. However, there is also a second, deeper layer to the movie openly hidden behind this highly entertaining whodunit plot and that's the criticism of the church as an institution. The film frequently shows the double standard of the church for instance while the monks are giving morsels of food to the poor, they are simultaneously collecting food from them as some sort of tax. It's this second layer that to me made this film truly standout. This is not the first time I have seen this film and it certainly won't be the last.

DRIVE-AWAY DOLLS Directed by: Ethan Coen Score: 6 First time watch Directed by one half of the legendary Coen Brothers, this is a fun roadtrip/crime comedy. For some reason I kept thinking about the movie BLOCKERS, like an R rated sequel or some sorts, and maybe this was only because one of the leads that was also in that movie, but I got stuck in my head. Ultimately, this movie does nothing special, but is a fun time. Combinations that bring good understanding often lead to the greatest of success so I can imagine that when A24 planned an epic, larger budget film the name Alex Garland would've been very high on this list and I'm pleased to report that this combination of studio and director have delivered an incredible film. Right from the jump, the film looks BEAUTIFUL!!! The on location filming lends itself to create the most stunning of set pieces, the technical aspects of this film even down to the cg are all masterfully done. Cinematography is top notch of course. But what sets Civil War apart and what makes in masterful in my eyes is of course the films premise. The way we follow the group of war journalists is the BEST way to flow the themes and impacts of the film. I personally felt I was right with them as with each kilometre we are reminded of the dread, paranoia, destruction, visceral mutilation, death, decay & denial that war brings. I'm no stranger to action but the way that these war scenes were written and filmed was perfect. The heighten fear and anxiety from the gun fire. fear of the unknown and genuinely not knowing who to trust as we navigate with the journalists is the perfect reminder of the evils of war and that a distinct Alex Garland feel, akin to the dread of 28 days later (which Garland wrote). The arch's of all the cast are also fantastically crafted as we first see how the lasting images of war have now catching up with Lee and an almost ceremonial passing of the torch of a complete desensitisation has been passed on to Jessie. With of course all the performances from the cast being brilliant! I saw this film a few weeks ago now and I'm still in awe of its cautionary depiction of a country descending into the chaos and evil of war. A welcome return to the mid budget epic that cinema has been missing for a while. Definitely watch this if you are able to! . . . . #a24 #alexgarland #film #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #filmlover

Late Night with the Devil is an incredibly effective horror film that tackles a great concept and executes it flawlessly. Under the superb direction of directing duo #cameroncairnes and #colincairnes , the movie tells an engaging and well-written story that's enhanced by the visuals. The 70s late-night talk show format is very original and works perfectly. The production design, the sets and the music are all excellent. They come together beautifully and succeed in making you feel like you're actually watching a talk show. The cast is also a big reason why the film works. Every actor is very committed and does a lot with their roles. #daviddastmalchian does an excellent job playing the host. He's super charismatic and nails every scene he's in. The supporting cast is also great, mainly #rhysauteri and #ingridtorelli . The story is great, but it does stumble a bit in the third act. I wasn't sure how to feel about the ending, but I think that it will grow on me on rewatch. The film isn't particularly scary, but it does do a great job executing its horror without having to use cheap jumpscares, which is a big plus for horror these days. It also features really good practical effects that make the gory scenes a lot of fun to watch. Now let's address the film's only flaw, aka its use of AI art. It doesn't ruin the experience, but it's ugly and just the fact that it's there makes me think less of the movie and the people who decided to include it. It's very disappointing that anyone thought it would've been a good idea. Overall, Late Night with the Devil is a very unique horror movie it's a very fun experience and a must-watch for fans of the genre. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #moviebuff #filmreviews #filmreviewer #filmreview #filmbuff #reviews #review #cinema #cinephile #latenight #latenighttalkshow #latenightwiththedevil #shudder #reaction #horrormovies #horrorcommunity #horrorfilms #scarymovies #horroraddict #horror #horrorfan #horrorobsessed

Despite my best efforts, I ended up not loving the new Percy Jackson adaptation. It is enjoyable, but sadly it's nowhere near as good as it should be. Almost everything about the show feels off. The lighting is awful. The night scenes are so poorly lit that I had to turn up the brightness of my screen way up. The action sequences are also a problem. There is almost no buildup to them and they're over in a matter of seconds. There is no danger or suspense because the characters seem to have a solution for everything. The story isn't given room to breathe because it moves at a ridiculously fast pace. Many of the plot points are done on fast-forward which doesn't allow us to get invested in the characters, the relationships or the story. A lot of information and character development has been left out and I feel like if I wasn't already a fan of the books I would be confused as to what was happening. I was also not a fan of some of the changes they made to the books. The show is overall a faithful adaptation, but it does make some bizarre changes that are unnecessary and have no impact on the story. #rickriordan has complained about how the movies made so many changes to the books, yet he has done the same thing to this show despite promising that it was going to stick to the source material, which is very annoying. The cast is a mixed bag. The adult actors do a pretty good job, but the main kids are kinda underwhelming. Their performances are good in some scenes, but in others, they seem stiff and awkward. Ultimately, the new Percy Jackson has good elements, but they can't make up for how poorly it's made. It just left me feeling disappointed. I'm hoping Season 2 will be much better (if #disney even gets to make it). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #tvreviews #tvreview #tvshows #tvshow #percyjackson #percyjacksonandtheolympians #moviereviews #moviereview #moviereviewer #moviecritic #filmreviewer #filmreview #filmreviews #filmcritic #reviews #review #cinematic #cinephile #streaming #reaction #disneyplus #disneyworld #walkerscobell #disneyland #loganlerman #greekmythology #greekgods #camphalfblood
