If you had asked me 4 years ago if I would ever have a baby that had special needs I wouldn’t have believed you. 4 years ago my body was light. I wasn’t weighed down with the heaviness life threw at me. I didn’t even know what eye gels were. I had a thriving 14 month old and a consistent yoga practice. Now I have eye gels and appointments and little to no physical yoga. I also have a lot more love. More gratitude than I ever thought possible. These days I sometimes go all day without looking in a mirror and when I finally do I am struck by how worn down I look. I’m done with that. I’m committing right now that I refuse to put myself last for any longer. Self care can be free and for me that means waking up and getting productive right away and showering and shaving my legs-because I want to not because I have to. I’m committed to journaling when I’m overwhelmed instead of scrolling and shopping.
