Did you know that we are a 100% sober family?

It's not something I talk about much on here, but sobriety is a HUGE part of our health & wellbeing, so I thought I'd share a bit about why it's so important to us, and what it has helped.

It's quite uncommon nowadays to meet a young couple or family that doesn't utilize ANY substances whatsoever. Most people enjoy a casual drink with dinner or on the weekends, lots of people have a relationship with ganja that feels right for them.

But when Isaac and I met, we were both ready to commit to deep, intense, sobriety without exceptions.

The most mind-altering thing we do is yoga... and coffee 😅

With individual histories of relying on substances for joy, relaxation, mental stability, ritual, and more... it felt obvious that a shift needed to be made, together. What we didn't realize was how RADICALLY our health improved after quitting.

Isaac is even 100% free of processed sugar. He is truly the most sober person I know, as sugar absolutely interacts with the brain like a drug.

When we stopped using substances of any kind, we started sleeping better, feeling drawn to healthier foods, communicating & processing emotions better, and creating spiritual rituals out of other more wholesome practices.

Our blood sugar is more easily regulated, we have both shown biological markers of healed livers, our digestive systems are functioning much better, we don't suffer from brain fog nearly as much...

We are completely free. We have chosen our addiction (we love our organic coffee + raw milk ritual!) and we are happy with it. No substance has a hold on us.

Isaac attributes much of his success with the GAPS Diet & healing Lyme disease All-Naturally to being sober. His healing required it. @gapsyndrome

What's your take on sobriety? Is it a part of your "health plan" or "diet"? Can you imagine what it would feel like to be FREE from all addiction?
