We built a cedar lined blanket closet in a small unused space.

One of the benefits of being excruciatingly slow at getting things done is that you have plenty of time to think about what you want to do. This space has always been destined for a cabinet, but after finding cedar planks on FB marketplace for a great price, we decided to line the space with cedar as we built.

I love it.

I might even sniff the walls as I walk by.

I’m so excited to get things somewhat put away. We’ve been living out of boxes and bags for over a year.

We found plywood at a bargain price and used it behind the cedar since the studs in that nook didn’t give us enough support for the shelves.

The cabinet face will get built this winter in our down time. We’ll be experimenting with making insert doors and drawers, kind of an old school look, so it should be fun.
