Low “Double Negative”, 2018.
This might be the album I have played the most with Low. The first time I played it I was sure there was an error on the first song “Quorum”.
I checked the record and cleaned it an extra time with the brush, but still this annoying sound of error.
Then I downloaded the mp3 files, just to ensure there was nothing wrong and when I found out that all was as it should be, I simply sat down and started enjoying this difficult listen.
When I listen to this album, I always think of our difficult start, and how this album has grown into a true masterpiece for me.
These songs simple moves something inside of me, I do not know why, but they do.
Like pieces of sound that once was a whole, but someone took a scissor and cut them into small pieces, and it took Sparhawk and Paker to assemble them again and in the process strange surfaces of vocals and noise sneaked into the tunes and it all ended up on the “Double Negative” album.
If you do not know this album, if you do not have any Low albums, let this be the first one you will ever include into your collection, and I can promise you that music will show a face of itself which you have never seen before – a classic!
