A memorial of the Scots Greys stands on a rock pedestal high above Princess Street Gardens in Edinburgh.
The bronze statue, unveiled in 1906 to commemorate the regiment’s dead in the Boer War, depicts a trooper, designed by William Birnie Rhind.
Later plaques were added in commemoration of the regiment members, who fell in the two worldwars, in Northern Ireland and Iraq.
