Imagine having to make a choice between purchasing a carton of eggs for your family and purchasing shampoo or any other hygiene product.
Unfortunately, this is a reality for thousands of mothers and their children in our local community.
Federal programs such as WIC (Women’s, Infants & Children) do not provide access to hygiene products. This means, the 15 hygiene products that our organization provides to target hair, oral, body and menstrual care are not readily available unless you are purchasing with your own dollars.
The next time you’re at a local grocery store, take a look around the aisles. Notice which items have a WIC sticker and which items do not.
