I am sharing insight into how Andy Warhol, Ansel Adams, and Georgia O'Keeffe influence my work and creative ethos. Andy Warhol's approach to pop art has always inspired me. His use of vibrant colors and the way he turned everyday objects into iconic pieces of art have encouraged me to push boundaries in my designs and see the extraordinary in the mundane. Pop art is about making a bold statement and evoking emotions, principles that I strive to embed in every brand identity I create. Ansel Adams captured the beauty and power of nature with his camera. His attention to detail and ability to translate the grandeur of landscapes into black-and-white photography remind me of the importance of perspective and depth in design. Adams has taught me to appreciate the subtleties and to create designs that stand the test of time, just like his timeless photographs. Georgia O'Keeffe's remarkable floral paintings and unique portrayal of the American Southwest impact my work. Her bold use of colors, fluid shapes, and emotional depth inspired me to experiment with organic forms and weave emotional narratives into brand designs. O'Keeffe's work pushes me to look beyond the surface and design with soul. These artists encourage me to blend boldness with simplicity, to see beauty in the ordinary, and to infuse my work with depth and emotion. Their legacies shape the visual landscape of our culture but also fuel my passion for creating brand identities that resonate, inspire, and endure. I'm grateful for the lessons learned and can't wait to bring more of their influence into my work. Here are some photos from dining out @bamboosushi’s downtown location after attending a party at @francesmayshop just a short walk away. Like many restaurants and small businesses in the neighborhood, they are offering West End Wednesday specials including these hand rolls and a new signature cocktail. Some of you may not know this, but I worked with Bamboo Sushi to help them rebrand and reposition their business during the pandemic to get people to think differently about ordering sushi for takeout. I’m very proud of the work I did for them, and it’s so nice to see them thriving once again. The next celebration takes place on Wednesday, May 29, but even before that, consider how you can be a positive force for this city through civic engagement, volunteerism, advocacy, or just being a good neighbor and friend to Portland and its people. St saviours estate were very blessed a few months ago. What space was being used to hold one derelict slide for many many years has now been transformed into this beautiful garden space. One of the residence has taken it upon themselves to create and fruit, veg and herb garden for the whole of the estate to enjoy. In the space of a month the garden has had an array of fruits and herbs planted. So far we have 6 different varieties of fruit trees. Apples, pears, cherries, plums, grapes and lemons, 8 varieties of berry bushes and all of the kitchen herbs. The goal of becoming a coach or fitness professional should always be to help others succeed. In doing so we create more opportunities for more people to strive to live fuller, healthier lives. If the person who created the wheel never shared that knowledge and know how, then we wouldn’t have tires 🛞 to drive on today. Knowledge is meant to be shared. There’s not just one way of doing things. It’s learned & taking any original snippet of information and carving it into something a bit better, more digestible for others with perhaps less experience & understanding. Thats why we chose to become coaches and trainers. We wanted the information, the experiences, the journey to be more inclusive. We were called to help others find the way to move through struggle, pain and feeling unmotivated to take care of themselves. Questions I learned to ask when learning/ experiencing something new to me. How does this help me? How could this help someone else? How could I help someone else with this knowledge? Making it so you are the only one with the key prevents a lot of people from opening doors just so you could say you opened it first. Sounds like you created a lot of unopened doors. Looking back at where my career as a trainer/coach and business owner has led me I am so grateful to all who have shared there knowledge in hopes that I could carry it on and help improve this industry. Shout out to @barbellrehab for giving me the tools & knowledge 2 years ago to help me become the solid coach I am today & help me in helping others move pain free in lifting heavy things! My hope is that each coach, instructor, participant, & seeker of knowledge takes every cue & morsel of knowledge that was taught to me & share it. Pretty sweet day with some of our @projectwesociety Members and a favorite guest exploring a BEAUTIFUL trial in Bolton MA yesterday morning! We started our #wildwanderingstrailtrek Nature Immersion series this month. This is my 3rd year planning & organizing an April to August series of nature walks exploring different #massachusetts woodland trails. It’s lots of fun and so interesting to explore new places, while getting out to exercise, breathe in fresh air & relax. On yesterday’s trek, we found a gorgeous spot to do some #forestbathing and hugged some #trees (yep, that’s the kind of group we are #treehuggers 🌲💚). I gleefully looked on as I watched lots of conversations being had & loved hearing the outbursts of laughter as these amazing women created bonds & contued building friendships. I offer many ways for women to connect with themselves and each other in authentic ways, but I think that I find that our #trailwalks offer the most amount of ease of connection for people. There’s just something about being in nature that connects people. I truly love the energy so much!
