First #medalmonday of 2024 after 26.2 miles around Geneva yesterday 🏅
The race started off feeling great, not too bothered about pace, but instead trying to work at a set heart rate and go on feel. Unfortunately, after almost 27km of feeling strong and being on for a time I would have been over the moon with, with one stride I got a sudden pain in my right quad, which then started spasming. After that, protecting my leg from further damage was way more important than a time, so I was just jogging gently and walking for the remainder of the route 👣
I know it was the right decision, but nonetheless, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. I tried to adjust my mindset and just enjoy the views and the atmosphere after that. Thankfully, today doesn't feel that much worse than usual post-marathon DOMS, so I'm obviously thinking about the next one... 💪🏼
