Happy Friday Sexy Beasts! 💃 Please help me celebrate an OG client, @0jaydee0. Our short relationship spans for over a decade. It's longer than most marriages! 😂 During our time together, she met her husband and had 2 kiddies. In fact, when she told me she was preggos with baby #1, I was internally freaking out 🫠. I had never trained anyone preggo until this point. My only knowledge was from other mum trainers and Google a few dos and don'ts. I based her workout plan around how she felt on the day, how her body feels and worked around limitations. She never stopped lifting weights even while heavily pregnant, she was doing sumo deadlifts at 36 weeks at 60kgs and then went on to lift 95kgs post partum, a new PB. She was moving around within a week after giving birth and then back to her regular training schedule within 14 weeks. With baby #2, we repeat the same process and she was able to fit into her pre-baby jeans within 10 weeks. This is all due to great team work. There is no "I" in team. PS. 🔴 Did you know most of us have a dominant leg? Just like being right or left-handed, our legs have preferences too. Using one side more often can lead to strength imbalances, which might not be good for our bodies. While it’s great for sports, it’s not so great for day-to-day activities. I recommend incorporating specific drills and exercises into your routines to eliminate these imbalances and get our weaker side up to speed. These single-leg drills are super effective at targeting each leg individually, engaging our core, and challenging our balance. Trainer Tip Thursday We are all guilty of it and all have the tendency to compare ourselves to others. It is as human as any other emotion. However it is a decision that only steals happiness from our lives and has lots of unwanted effects. 📌Comparisons are always unfair. We typically compare the worst we know of ourselves to the best we presume about others. 📌Comparisons by definition require measuring but only a fool believes every good thing can be counted (or measured). 📌Comparisons rob us of precious time. We each get 86,400 seconds each day and using even one to compare yourself or your accomplishments to another is one second too many. 📌You are too unique to compare fairly. Your gifts, talents, successes, contributions and value are entirely unique to you and your purpose in this world. They can never be properly compared to anyone else. 📌You have nothing to gain, but lots to lose. For example: your pride, your dignity, your drive and your passion. 📌There is no end to the possible number of comparisons. The habit can never be overcome by attaining success. There will always be something or someone else to focus on. 📌Comparison puts focus on the wrong person. You can control one life......yours. But when we constantly compare ourselves to others, we waste precious energy focusing on other peoples lives rather than our own. 📌Comparisons often result in resentment. Resentment towards others and towards ourselves. Comparisons deprive us of happiness. They add no value, meaning or fulfilment to our lives. They only distract from it. Murph Challenge 🇺🇲 is a grueling test of physical and mental endurance that honors the sacrifice and service of fallen Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy on Memorial Day. The workout consists of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another one-mile run, all done while wearing a weighted vest. 🤔 I had to modify this challenge as I can't do a pull up and my push ups are girly. Scared of an injury if I wore the weighted vest the whole time. I ran the 2 miles with a weighted vest, I did 100 girly push ups, 300 squats, 200 assisted pull ups, all with no vest. I did 25 reps of each until I got to the goal, definitely wanted to get it done at the end. I was sore the last few reps. 🥵 The mile run after was hard but doable, legs were feeling all the squats plus my route starts off on an incline. Super proud of myself, I want to do it again next year. The new goal is to do it all with the weighted vest. 🔥Bit of client appreciation today as @purcells88 hit a big milestone today by hitting a 20kg (44lbs) fat loss (pictured with the weight equivalent of what he’s lost!) Steven and I have been working together since the start of the year when he came to me determined to make changes to his health and fitness. I am Annie, I am 58 years old and I have been weight training for 9 years, qualifying as a Personal Trainer 6 years ago. I am also a certified Nutrition Coach, Menopause Coach and Pregnancy and Ante-Natal Coach. I love learning new things and strive for continuous personal growth. With young children and a pandemic to contend with, it was a few years before I could seriously focus on putting my training into practice.
