New #artpiece. ‘Turtles all the way down’. I’ve been searching for a core self for a long time. For what is left when you strip away all the wants and desires and doubts and fears. I spent years burning down towers in my mind and rebuilding to try to find something that comes from this pure self. And just when I think I found it, everything changes. The moment is gone. And it leaves me only with thoughts of, what was I doing when I felt that and what is wrong now that leaves me not able to feel it anymore. But it’s turtles all the way down. It’s an ever evolving infinite self whose endless depths and mystery is where the joy of life lies, if not the meaning. Maybe there is no core. Maybe it’s just shape shifting. Trust falling. Chasing the sunset. Another in this particular series with a neutral background is in process and will be completed soon. Standby. Awakening II- 48 x 72 x 3 acrylic on wood panel- A cherry tree in full bloom. Orioles and purple finches alight in its branches. Songbirds like these have symbiotic relationships with the cherry tree. They eat some of the blooms, allowing others to flourish. They also keep insect populations in balance. The tree provides them with food like blossoms, fruits and insects. It also provides them with shelter. Nature never disappoints; the deeper you look the deeper you find.
