. Started P3 in the first heat, fought my way up to P2 in class (4th overall). Then it was a reversed grid in heat 2, starting P1 and finishing P2 (4th overall again). The final was intense! Race report 🏁. Last weekend I was at @gygkarting for @club100racing heavy weight sprints, this was my first time back at this track in 5 years so a steep learning curve to learn the kart and the track. Heat 1 17th ⬆️ 8th showing some strong pace from the start with some nice overtakes through spoon and devils elbow. Heat 2 15th ⬆️ 9th showing good pace again and battling with some fast c2 drivers just ment I missed out on 8th. Heat 3 15th ⬆️ 8th This was a really fun race I got up two places due to people spinning at T1 but due to my error I lost them places at the end setteling for 8th. B final 10th ⬇️ DQ Really unfortunately race I got caught in a fight and got a ABC penalty for it causing me to allready drop 4 positions then I got another one because a driver cut across the grass and rejoined in front of me and I hit there bumper causing another ABC. Overall it was a good day I have some things to adapt and learn from before the next round. . Round 1: 28th April 2024 Debuts are never particularly easy, but I'd say round one went pretty decent. Qualified 7th on a fast grid, but managed to battle my way into 4th place in the opening laps. Unfortunately, the damp conditions led to a bit of a rough patch in Turn 10. Someone misjudged the inside line and pushed me out. Disappointed to finish 6th, but next round, I'm looking to push harder to try get into the top 3. Congrats to everyone who took part in round one, even though it got a little messy out there. Practice/Quali i came 2nd and in the 20 min sprint 1st came off at turn one so i then took the lead and kept it till the end and finished in first. NRKL Juniors Round 1- Daytona Tamworth QUALI: P12 HEAT: P11 FINAL: P12 POINTS: 130 A difficult day of racing but a fun one nonetheless. Found my pace in Heat 1 though this was limited by my kart's straightline speed issues. Had to race in the back of the pack as a result, but held my own through consistent laps and solid defending when needed. Brought home 130 points for @rsportracing, plus 275 from a grand slam by Jake @anders_ladanddad_gokarting and 170 in solid shift by @jack_brennan_karting to bring the team total to 575. I have also made my own seat weighted seat insert, so this round, I didn't expect myself to be very fast, and I used it to adapt to the new racing conditions. A big thank you to @daytonamsport for organising the races for #internationalwomensday. I was fortunate to get a place at Tamworth to compete in a complimentary N35 Sprint Race against other like-minded women, and it was great to see a very full grid and some very talented competition as well! I didn't go in with any expectation, mainly just to get more track time as I'd only been there a couple of times in the DMAX karts, but in damp conditions 😅 I qualified 4th after 8 minutes on track! But once the race started, the quicker drivers were just pulling away after a few laps, and I got passed by a very quick driver who had a brake issue off the start grid 😅 So after 12 minutes of racing in the dark (with my visor misting up as I forgot to put my pin lock insert in 🤦♀️) I finished 5th! Not a bad race all in all but definitely room for improvement. #daytonatamworth #demontweeksmotorsport #teamdt

Daytona Tamworth Superchamps ➡️ Round 2 The practice was alright. No incidents really happened. In the 1st heat, we had a reverse grid. So, the drivers that got the best lap time would pe put at the back, and the ones who didn't would be put at the front. It took me by surprise. I didn't know i would've been almost last, so it motivated me to do even better. In heat 2, I started 3rd. Which made me really happy. But then someone used me as a brake. So I spun out. I was behind because I had to let all the others pass so I won't cause another incident. And so with that, I was last. 😭 Well, the initial plan was to catch up. However, there was a guy in front of me, and he would do things on purpose, so I couldn't overtake him. I didn't want to be aggressive, and I wanted to use my brain, unlike him. So, I slowed down to study him, and I copied all of his moves to see his flaws. After some laps of actual bumping and pushing literal aggressive driving from him. I finally over took him, and I prayed that the gap was big enough between me and him. Because I didn't want to put up with him again. So now, because he kept me up with him, the group was in front by like 6 seconds. I literally couldn't do anything about it. And it upset me. This race was really upsetting because of that. In the final, I started almost last, and a similar thing happened. But with another driver. But, well done to them and to the winners and all of the other drives from the championship. Well, it rained, and so I didn't get the chance to improve in dry conditions. However, I got to learn most of the wet lines and followed the drivers moves since they are more experienced than me there, since it was my 2nd time there. They helped me get better and race better at Daytona tamworth, too. I also got to learn new things about my technique in the wet. I didn't have any expectations of me picking up any positions. However, I have, which was nice. The @daytonamsport Tamworth Superchamps has finally started!✨️ First of all, I would like to say that this race was the most amazing race I've ever had this year. It was very, very interesting since it was dark and cold and there was also a black out and also I spun on it my final so I had to catch up. (I also had to relearn the track with 22kg on me) 🏁There were some dark spots where you couldn't see much. It was the most fun part since I've memorised the track, so it was an amazing overtaking spot. Since I was confident in braking in the same area and knowing nothing will happen. Other than gaining back my positions. 🏁💨 Well, as I was saying in my final, I did kinda spun out in the first lap, and so I lost all of my positions but I didn't give up and I've managed to overtake a lot of people making me finish p7 overall and p5 in the Lightweight category. Obviously, if the person in front of me wouldn't have spun out, I would've finished the race with an even better result. But I'm still proud of myself for catching up this quickly with other drivers and also for not giving my spot to others and for getting quicker each lap.🩷 Since I was driving with 22kg of weight on, it was pretty cool to see me learn to drive with a heavier kart and get better results. My best lap was a 57.1 🏃♀️ (Keep in mind I was driving with weights on a track that I usually go to but never drove on it with weights, so in a way, I had to relearn it ⚖️) I have a gopro footage of me driving, but because of the black out and me forgetting my camera is on I drained the battery because i waited like 30-40 mins outside to get back in racing because of an accident at the beginning so we had to restart and at the same time all of the lights on the track died. Before we had to restart, I got to p5, but then the unfortunate happened (the restarting). So today, instead of going Teamsport Nottingham (sorry guys). I went to Daytona Tamworth to try out there DMAX-GT Karts that are fitted with a 2 stroke engine. They were fast. Instant power. I learnt a lot. And it's one step closer to my own kart. I've learnt I need to do some more throttle control. I then did a N35 race and came 3rd in my weight class, battling all the way to the chequered flag. In that session I learnt the track more, and where good overtake spots are. I got faster as the session went on. 10/10 would go again. Shame about the final where my kart wasnt exactly amazing but it was great to be racing against the best! Finishing p3, after a practice session is something I didn't expect. Not only that I finished p3 in a dmax sprint but in the dmax practice session lve broke my own record from only doing 58-59 seconds to now doing 56.310, which all I can say is that I'm really proud of myself!!🩷 Obviously, there are some areas of improvement I need to work on- that I've found while in the kart and on the video l've took, but I will work on them so that next time i will be even quicker maybe finally getting p2 or p1 🫶🏻 . . . . . . . . . . . #daytona #daytonatamworth #girlsontrack #girlsontrackuk #girlsonthegrind #karting #daytona #fastlanekarting #totalkartingzero #horacubrazi #girls #p3
Today was Ethan’s final race in his 1st season at @daytonamsport in Tamworth. What a journey it’s been - so many achievements, hurdles, lessons, wins & losses. A fantastic & entertaining 6 races. For me, @ethan_guest1 had his best qualifiers, heats & final today - fiercely battled all day - a culmination of his learning since his 1st race back in April. Ethan won a medal for fastest lap in the Final and finishing 2nd in todays race Genuinely super proud of everything Ethan has achieved this season - he has laid a solid foundation to build on & in readiness for Season 2 starting next month. Had an exhausting couple of days this week, thanks to Dad @lee_a_collins for driving me down to the Midlands and further! Loved every minute! Part 1 - @daytonamsport - Daytona Race School Day, great atmosphere and excellently run. Well done to all the other racers. 🏁 Sodi Race Indy final results - 2nd place 🥈 My first time on this track, it included some practise runs and some indoor tuition. Followed by a qualifying race and a final race. My first time around the track was 73.69, my final lap time at the end of the day was 67.73, so a great improvement from the start of the day. Finished second in the cadet best lap time of the week. A Karting update. I competed in the 4th competitive race of my 1st season championship at @daytonamsport Tamworth In a morning of mixed weather, bright sunshine & pouring rain, I wrestled through my heats finishing 4th place (starting grid position 5th) and 2nd place (starting grid position 5th). Qualifying for Final A and having a starting grid position of 5th, I eventually finished 6th overall (out of 16 cadet racers). A fantastic battle between all racers in the final - it was a pulsating watch. Hopefully my passion, grit, and determination are evident for all to see and I am really proud of my progression & journey so far. Prior to today's race, I currently sit in 6th place overall out of 14 drivers in my 1st season Thank you to @y.meliotis for his racing knowledge and support as both me & my dad @steveguest look to expand our knowledge of the racing circuits and the opportunities available.
