Hello everyone! I have been a bit silent over the past few months, and I am at a point where I am ready to share with you all what has been happening. Putting together a mental health ministry does not make me exempt from suffering from my own mental health concerns. In October of 2022, I was struggling severely with my mental health. It got to the point where my personal treatment team stepped in and suggested that I go to a residential treatment center, which is what ended up happening. I spent 5 weeks out of state at a treatment center to gain skills and obtain stability. Once I got home from residential, I started immediately in an Intensive Outpatient Program. I have been in the program for 3 months and coming to an end with that Right now, we are in the stages of figuring out where we are and where we want the ministry to go. Ministry update! We are so excited to see how God is shaping, forming, and already using the ministry! The Team that has been built is amazing, and I am so grateful for each and every one of them! We have our first official meeting this month! I have been meeting with churches in the area to share what the ministry is and what we hope to be. I continue to add meetings on my schedule to meet with churches and continue to spread the word! One of the meetings that I had last week, a need presented itself. This specific church was in need of a Suicide Prevention Training for some of their Care Ministers they are on boarding. We are able to come along side them and provide this service for them! God is working and moving in this ministry. I am so excited to see how God continues to move. I was doing a Bible study this afternoon and this quote came up. It hit home for me, and helped put some things into perspective for me. For those of you who don't know me or my story, I have lived through a lot of childhood trauma. I was abuse, neglected, and more.
