So here we are at the start of my push up phase 💪🏼 99kg, not too fluffy and ready to slap on some new muscle. It’s been 7 months since my last show and I can already see some massive improvements to my back shot, it actually looks like I’ve finally grown some lower lats 🚀 Now I have a solid push up phase planned I’m looking forward to seeing how much more I can pack on in the right places, the goal is always balance. Congratulations to IFBB Pro Men's Physique athlete @dustinalvis1 on his 2nd place finish at the @npc_ifbb_midwest St Louis Pro show! Dustin competed there last year in his rookie season and placed 5th and returned this year and moved up to 2nd. This is 3 straight 2nd place finishes to start the year. I am very proud of Dustin and his hard work. It can be discouraging, but he has shown great determination and resiliency throughout this process. So what's next? My 12th event, 2nd as an IFBB Pro in the books! To get a Pro win, the feeling is...well there aren't enough positive adjectives to describe the feeling!!! To compete at this level though takes everything out of you,...you have zero idea. Was it worth it though? HELLLLL YES!!!! Why? Because I love this sport that much. Growing up as a malnourished, incredibly underweight, picked last for every sport, abused kid to reaching the pinnacle of this bodybuilding sport means the freaking world to me!!! And to do this at my age is amazingly incredible to me! So now you understand my "why." What's next? I want to do one more show, but in 2025...either Emerald Cup, if they add 60+ Classic Physique, hint hint @ribicproductions 😉 or the IFBB Pro Masters World Championships in Pittsburgh, late summer 2025. The latter is the closest to Mr. Olympia for us old folks This will require me to put on about 10 more lbs of muscle to feel competitive at this level. For Men's Physique, I need to start videoing my poses and routine, AND hire a one-on-one posing coach in the local area who can/will focus their complete attention on me. My performance at this show was mediocre at best, critiquing myself. I could/can be BETTER! Overall, though what a freaking amazing weekend! An IFBB Pro Champ!!! That's forever!!! The feeling of excitement I have to see my name on this IFBB Pro list with the other elite IFBB Pro athletes competing this Friday!!! It's indescribable! One year ago today I was on stage competing in the Wasatch Warrior IFBB Pro show. This was the first time in my Figure career that I was able to compete in my home state and the first time many of my family and friends had actually seen me on stage. It was an incredible experience, and a rush being on my home stage. Placing top 5 in the open and 2nd in masters was the cherry on top. Yeah who am I kidding 😂 I’m not retiring yet. I love this S*** too much! For me now it’s going to all be about timing. I will not jeopardise my service so I’ll only pull the trigger on a prep when I have a gap with clients competing as they will always be the priority. If shows I want to do align with that gap then that’s when I’ll go full send. With the show schedule this year with the team that certainly won’t be until next year at the minimum. So, In the meantime, I’ll be growing 💪🏼😁 Push up phase planned starting next month which will take me up to our trip to the Olympia in October.
